I started this project 2 years ago when I adopted my horse Steve. He's been a pretty big project horse with many hoof/body/behaviour issues (thanks to a long racing career!) and during that time I have kept a digital notebook of all his changes, appointments, clinics, training and.. well almost everything.

if you've tried to keep a paper notebook for your horse, it can get really messy over time. You lose pages, have to go sifting to find the information you need... that's if you bother at all.

I love digital notebooks for the freedom to move/rearrange, re-write things in different colours, drag in photos and stickers (even gifs!), include urls and references to websites and to search my notes later on.

Keeping this record for Steve has been a game-changer, keeping me motivated when progress slowed/stopped/reversed. I love looking back at old photos and notes to stay inspired.

Even if your horse is not a project like Steve, just keeping track of everything is a really great reference tool, espeically in case they get sick or need to move on to a new home (imagine getting a full, detailed history in a nice tidy PDF file when you buy a horse!😱)
