Introducing the band on my EP:

Last but certainly not least, we have Mr. Anthony "Tony" Felts on guitar!

Anthony and I first played together back in 2021. He is one of my favorite guitarists I've played with since and every solo he takes is a rush of endless ideas and finesse. Anthony graduated with a Bachelor's in Jazz Studies from Colombia College in Chicago. He's also a drummer, bassist, keyboardist, top notch singer (boy can BELT), and birdwatcher! In addition to teaching around the Denver area, Anthony's band, Wild Love Tigress, headlines shows all around Colorado and tours regularly. He's actually been kind enough to have me sub with the band, which was a real treat. Really excited for you all to hear what he will bring to my music.

Introducing the band on my EP:

We have Ms. Tiana "Tea" Thakur on bass!

Tiana and I first met when playing with the Gavin Worland Big Band in 2022. She's a killer bass player on both electric and acoustic. In addition to bass, she also plays keys, guitar, and is an incredibly powerful vocalist. Tiana graduated from Western Illinois University in 2021 with a degree in Jazz Studies. She was also the recipient of the NAMM President's Innovation award in 2019! In addition to her own band, Tea with Friends, Tiana plays with the Gavin Worland Big Band, Little Trips, and many other groups around the Denver area. The Denver music scene is extremely lucky to have her talents and wit.

Introducing the band on my EP:

We have Mr. Joe Darpino on drums!

Fun fact, we're both born and raised from Colorado Springs! Joe is an active drummer, percussionist, and educator throughout the state of Colorado. Joe holds degrees in both music education and jazz performance, with an emphasis in drum set, from the University of Northern Colorado where he studied under Jim White and had opportunities to play with many amazing musicians including Jeff Coffin, Alex Sipiagin, and Randy Brecker. Joe currently resides in Colorado Springs, where he teaches band and maintains a private percussion studio as well as an active gig schedule with numerous jazz groups in town. Joe has been the drummer I've played with the most in my professional career, and his reliability has made this project a breeze.

My favorite quote from Joe is: "ANY soup that forms a film over it after sitting out for thirty seconds is TRASH." I doubt he remembers this because it was almost a decade ago but I think about it like once a month.

We have Mr. Daniel Thompson on B3!

Daniel and I were a part of the same undergraduate class at UNC, where he eventually continued on to get his Master's as well. He has performed throughout the United States with the Glen Miller Orchestra, as the musical director and arranger for the Celtic Angels, and blues and funk bands such as Graham Good and the Painters and AJ Fullerton. He's one of my favorite humans on this planet and I'm psyched to be able to have his creativity and skill applied to my music.

Hi I'm gonna brag about my sister, Alyssa. Her short film, "Someone Like Me" was voted best in her class and her main actress in the film was even voted best actress. As someone who worked on the score for the project, I got to see the cuts before sound editing, and let me tell you, there was a LOT of sounds that needed to be equalized because parts of it was filmed outside in noisy downtown Denver. She worked super hard to create a very professional project and absolutely crushed the editing. It looks amazing, but what I love most about the film is the heart that went into it. This wasn't a film project, this was Alyssa's film. And her entire class agreed it was excellent. I'm more than proud of you. I'm so excited for you. There is nothing you can't do through sheer will. I can't wait for everyone to see it.
