It been an interesting 7Days, Our CSCS testing centre at HMP Lincoln went Down,after numerous early mornings and late.nights trying to get it back up and running,Finally on Tuesday We sorted it,This is where the story begins,one Offender Ryan had completed his Lv1 H&S training and was bouyed up and confident he would pass his Cscs test, after 3 successfull mock tests, lowest score 48.At 11am I had to break the news, we still couldn't test as.it was not up and running.His next words stuck "I really need this, Prison has taken 20yrs of my.life,please try your best, I am ready, I have 5yr contract upon release"@11.30am the PO's would come and collect him and take him back. unfortunately come 11.30,after numerous calls to help.lines,still nothing,I started feeling down as we were canceling testing for the 3rd time, you could.see the disappointment in the learners faces. Then just after 11.30 while on.live chat to Pearsons a person their end mentioned its not software, its the Network, with that in mind, I reset the Network adapters to default , All of a sudden a smile came across my face, the testing station kicked into gear and started to reboot the software and relink to the main computer, I rushed into the Education Team and asked if they could get Ryan back,The answer was no,as they had scheduled 2 others from different wing down.However,I wasn't taking no for an answer, I quickly gave them a solution and the POs agreed they would go get him, a joyous Ryan turned up accompanied by his PO, he entered the testing centre,not for a mock,but for real,then this 6ft4 person,became a nervous wreck, confidence went, it didn't seem the same person that left.I reassured him and sat him down and went through procedures, his palms sweating he clicked start, all.of a sudden he was unsure of answer, when he had gone through the 50 questions he had flagged up 5 for which he was unsure, those that know CSCS testing know you need 45 or more to.pass.Here he was, unsure of 5 answers.This was going to either change his life for the good or not.He finished and submitted his answers.Again, the next thing should of been simple, let him know his score with a pass or fail . Unfortunately our luck wasn't on.our side again, as the Test report failed to print, He was even more anxious and nervous,"You just don't know how much it means He kept repeating everyone was.waiting anxiously,fingers crossed for him had he or hadn't he.He then had to go.into a separate room while.i tried to get him a print out, all he kept saying was , this could change my life,please let it be. after 15 more mins, finally the printer kicked into gear and printed his score.report.His supporting officer asked to read out his score 47 out of 50 on hearing this.news, he.lept in the air, biggest smile on his face,thanked me my trainers, Po's and anyone around.That night driving home, the image of Ryan's face imbeded I smiled to myself, knowing we had hopefully changed a life.

It's been a busy year for the G.S.P running programs to get unployed people back into employment, some of the training we have deliverd has been in the World of Data Cable engineers. These pictures show our learners being out through their 3 week training course , funded by the DWP , before finally completing and moving into Employment with G.Network , earning between £27k -£32k per year... Thank you to all our Training providers , GNetwork and the DWP for helping us put all this together.
