The entire Southcare Homes Group got together today for a very productive and informative group meeting with managers, our Home Services team, and the Senior Leadership Team. It was a great day with a lot of learning. We even learnt fun facts about each other and had pizza for lunch!

Today was our Induction Day! New staff across our homes met at Lime Tree House Ringmer for a meet and greet with one of our Proprietors, Zeenat Nanji, and an introduction to the Southcare Family, our positive culture, and our values.

Our very own Karim Nanji had the pleasure of being invited to a dinner celebrating Sir David Evenett's 40 years of service to the constituency of Bexleyheath & Crayford. Guest Speaker was Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP, Secretary of State for Health & Social Care where he elaborated on improvements to GP hubs and recognised the valuable work undertaken by our Care team, with the need to recognise their skillets.

(The updated restrictions will not affect visitors of residents receiving end of life care.)

Meet Our Team
Lime Tree House would like to give a warm welcome to Laura, our new activities coordinator!

Laura's wide-ranging hobbies and spare-time pursuits bode well for a varied activity programme at Lime Tree. Baking, gardening, knitting, sewing, reading, wet-felting, kiln-forming glass, photography, painting, collage, flower-arranging....she even once did a taxidermy workshop! "The residents didn't seem keen, though, when I mentioned my stuffed rat, the other day", she told me, laughing.

"Lime Tree has half as many residents as my previous home, which is great as I can spend more time with each person and makes my job more interesting, more challenging and more rewarding."

Laura has played the piano since she was four and, in the two weeks since she joined Lime Tree, has regaled residents with such all-time favourites as We'll Meet Again, Lovely Bunch of Coconuts and Roll Out The Barrel as well as Chopin, Mozart, Bach and Debussy.

We're sure you would all like to give Laura a warm welcome and we look forward to sharing all our fun activities with you here!

As of 6 May 2021, nearly 82% of staff working in older adult care homes in England had received their first vaccination. As a group of five care homes, we are proud to announce the following figures as of today:

92% of all our staff have had their first vaccine jab and the majority have already had or are awaiting their second. 98% of all our residents have had their first and second jab!

The COVID-19 vaccine acts as an extra protective measure, much like , so we can honestly say that we are doing our very best to keep our residents, their relatives and our staff . If you haven’t yet had your COVID-19 vaccination, we would encourage you to receive the to protect yourself, your loved ones and other vulnerable ones.
