Escuela de Bomba y Plena Tata Cepeda and PROPA, wrapped up The Magic of Drums.

The event featured bomba y plena and the inaugural Afro Latinx Awards.

I am so grateful to stand along Afro-Latinx leaders such as Johanna López (OCPS School Board Member), and Julien Serrano O'Neil (youth development).

I am inspired after witnessing a posthumous award to Miguel Lanzo Pizarro.

I am proud to see a new generation dancing to the beat of drums played by this amazing group in the Puerto Rican diaspora.

I am hopeful as Central Florida residents enjoy the diversity and hopefully find a bit of themselves in the beat of the drum.

I humbly accept this recognition. Join us on Saturday!

I am overjoyed after learning that I am being recognized as an Afro-Latinx leader by Escuela de Bomba y Plena de Tata Cepeda.

Opportunity brought me to Florida, but I never imagined that it would also open the doors to learn more and CELEBRATE my Afro-latina roots.
