Texas Gourd Society is a non-profit organization that hosts The Lone Star Gourd Festival annually. You won’t believe your eyes! Doors are open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Visit us to see competition work, learn gourd art techniques or buy gourd art. Come and see how a dried, dirty gourd

Vendors are available all day from 9am to 5pm

North Texas Gourd Festival Competition Information

Call for entries at the North Texas Gourd Festival. The theme is "Creatures of Texas"

There is no entry fee and no categories or skill level to participate.
1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons will be awarded along with a People's choice ribbon, and a VIP ribbon.

Drop off your entries 9:00am - 2:00pm Thursday, April 18, 2024
Judging will be from 3:00pm - 5:00pm Thursday, April 18, 2024
Pick up will be from 3:00pm - 5:00pm Saturday, April 20, 2024

Note: This competition is not an AGS sanctioned competition.

Our Story

You won’t believe your eyes! Come and see how a dried, dirty gourd
can be turned into a piece of fine artwork. The annual Lone Star Gourd Festival is a nationwide competition. Doors are open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday-Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5; 17 and under admitted free with paying adult. The show provides an opportunity to see competition pieces from all over the United States. The public can also purchase gourd art, raw gourds, tools to create your own gourd art, and find lessons on how to do it.
