BREAKING NEWS!!! Instead of a prerequisite training as in 2023, for 2024 the School of Somatic S*xology plans to move Module 2 earlier so that it covers the prerequisite territory.

In other news, Kian is looking into running a U.S.-based training. Start dates would likely be either February or August.
The UK-based one would still run as long as the minimum number of paid-up students (currently 15) is reached.

*Like A Pro - for Men Who Work With Men*, taking place October 4-8, 2023, in San Francisco, is a special edition of the world-famous workshop, developed by Dr. Betty Martin. It will be facilitated by Certified S*xological Bodyworkers Michael Dresser and JoJo Bear, assisted by UK Somatic S*x Education trainer Kian de la Cour.

The Wheel of Consent, while not S*xological Bodywork per se, is central to current Somatic S*x Education training curricula, including ours. Described by many as ‘life-changing’, Like A Pro brings the transformative model of the Wheel of Consent to professionals working with topics of consent, boundaries, relational intimacy, body sovereignty, trauma recovery, s*xuality, communication, and touch.

*What’s special about this edition?*

Are you a man who works with other men, in either a touch or talk-based context? Want to expand your capacity to hold safer space for your clients, and bring them better tools for navigating touch and relating?

The experience of moving through the world with a male identity, and the experience of being a man who touches other men, both come with unique privileges and challenges. This is a men-only training space where the male experience of consent, choice, and touch can be explored and unpacked in the context of professional interactions.

*This in-person workshop will help you:*

- Understand what Giving and Receiving really are and why knowing the difference is crucial for getting profound results
- Learn how to create a strong container for your clients that has enough safety for them to get into the real work they are coming to you for.

*And will help you teach your clients or students:*

- To notice, value, trust and communicate their needs and desires
- To notice and be responsible for their boundaries
- To gain confidence and clarity in their ability to touch or be touched.

*Who can attend?*
All men (including q***r, gay, bi, questioning, straight, and others) who work with other men, either exclusively or often. Trans and cis men are welcome. Your work might include touch and does not have to. This course is for massage therapists, psychotherapists, physicians, ta**ra practitioners, s*xuality guides, escorts, counsellors, bodyworkers of all stripes, teachers, educators, coaches, and just about anybody working with people.

3. wanting freedom from suffering, pain and interruptions to our innocent trusting of our spontaneity and naturalness.

Body Poem is a structure to guide us into listening to our unthought knowns. These are unacknowledged by conscious thoughts and out of awareness for good reason.

But with any aspect of the self that is left unexpressed, like water, it will find its way out through the cracks in the earth.

Body Poem is a practice of radical acceptance with the understanding that we all have within us a self organising intelligence that will flower naturally when allowed.
