A slightly belated post for my 9 year stomaversary last Saturday (24 Sept) and world ostomy day on Saturday 1st October. I was so preoccupied travelling in Italy last weekend and then a friend's wedding this weekend that I didn't get a chance to post!!
Just goes to show that you can still live your best life with a stoma, and my ostomy is only a small part of my life but a part that has made it so much better than it might have been. Here's a few pics of my stoma and I in Italy. Can't believe it will be double digits next year! Still feel blessed every day 😍

After a long journey back from Australia I'm finally on the tube on my way back to East London! It's been an incredible 2 months and was very hard leaving friends and family, but I'm looking forward to seeing Michael and enjoying some of the British summer 😎 before we start planning our next trip!! -licious

Let's use today to raise ostomy awareness, as well as celebrate and embrace our stomas and the surgery that for many of us not only saved our lives but changed our lives (for the better).
I know we all struggle some days and acceptance can be difficult, but having a stoma does not need to be the end of anything - for me (and I hope for many others) it was a new beginning of a happy and healthier life.
