Afridesia was conceived and created by Jeff Morris in 1997. Maureen has moved on and is happy and healthy. She was very good with that. Afridesia wishes her well.
With his then significant other, Maureen Bagley worked very hard to bring African Art and Culture to as many people as possible. Afridesia became very prominent retail art gallery and shopping destination in Red Bank, NJ from 1998-2003. From our first location at 21 Broad Street to our last location at 25 Bridge Avenue, we always enjoyed the educational side of the business. We were always availab
le to give lectures with an exhibit at local businesses and schools and we will be looking forward to that again. We thank her for her past contributions, especially in the educational area. I am pleased to present the new site and offerings. I am planning to open a retail location in Monmouth County some time in 2013. Afridesia will be offering many items from several areas in Africa and beyond. With the understanding our country has changed economically, the main focus will be to fill the niche we were famous for; providing an affordable alternative gift solution with great value. This also will indirectly support the artists and their families. If Afridesia is a new experience for you, welcome! If you are an old friend from the past, I thank you for your past support and are looking forward to connecting again via this site and later on when I find the right location for a retail storefront.
