Handmade crocheted and knitted afghans, throws, and ponchos which add style and pizzazz to anyone's wardrobe. I also have a thing for yarn.
All By Hand began in 2004 from an idea to create hand made high quality gift items at reasonably low prices. I learned how to knit and crochet from my mother at the age of 13 and started with a Granny square afghan for my sister and a knitted ripple afghan for my mother but didn't really do much with either one because I went off to college, then got a job, then went back to college for a Master o
f Science degree, then got a job. After coming home from work, I realized I needed a form of stress relief and rediscovered the art of crocheting and then knitting. I soon realized how much I really love it and now, I cannot get enough! Between the various colors, textures, and types, I just want to buy them all! I really enjoy putting colors together. Taking one or two neutral colors and mixing a brighter color helps make the item pop. I also love beads which I will add to bling up whatever I am making. I believe everything looks better with a little bling. All the crocheted, knitted and leather products are handmade in the U.S.A. by myself and my husband. I began creating afghans because they are so wonderful to curl up with during the long winter months plus they are a great way to accent a room. I started making scarves because they are a quick and easy gift idea for friends and family. Poncho were created to help use up the extra scraps of yarn I had left after I made the afghans and scarves. My next projects were shawls and purses with my husband helping by creating hand-carved wooded purse handles as well as leather purses. Special Orders are available upon request.
