It was a honour to come back to the Long Island Guitar Festival again and perform. Many thanks to Harris, Laura and the whole team which makes this Fest such a special event 🙏👏👏👏👏

We had another wonderful long weekend guitar ensemble course at last month. All our participants have been quite a few times (one or two for the last 18 years 😳) which shows how enjoyable and lovely the atmosphere is. The idea is to learn as many ensemble pieces as possible in the weekend and perform them. This all helps sight reading, counting, rhythm, dynamics, phrasing and shaping, feeling the pulse, and listening. We also had a great group of local youngsters who joined for JacksClub session on Friday where we improved a bossa nova. The food was amazing as usual so huge shout out to resident weekend chef Lou. 2025 course will be in January.

Today we are heading down to to the beautiful Cawsands Bay Guitar Festival. Fest director has created such a popular and unique event in such a stunning location and it’s become a highlight in everyone year especially if you enjoy the guitar, sun, sea and food !!

An amazing week recording Chris Stell’s compositions including x2 solos with and flute & guitar with - x3 guitar duos with us and and and a quartet. Huge thanks to the amazing Matt Wadsworth from who engineered and produced. Delicious food by 👏👏👏

Another wonderful concert and sadly the last at the … we worked out that we came here to perform in 1998 and have been back on and off ever since until 2021 where we became artistic directors. We would like to thanks everyone at Dillington House who have worked so hard and have made us and everyone who has come on the summer school feel so welcome 🙏🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌👏👏👏👏

We are very excited and lucky to be going to beautiful Armenia 🇦🇲 next week to be part of the .festival with workshops, ensembles for young guitarists. We will also be giving a few concerts, one being at the stunning on 13 July with and amazing guitarists

Very excited about our forthcoming release of 10 Domenico Scarlatti sonatas with …. special dedication to who arranged the toccata which starts the recording. Sergio and Eduardo Abreu were a huge influence especially when we just started as a guitar duo.

We were very sad to hear the passing of the great Brazilian guitarist and luthier Sergio Abreu who with his brother Eduardo formed one of the most dazzling and influential guitar duos ever. We would obsessively listen to their recordings in order to work out their arrangements and marvel in their unique ensemble which dazzled, thrilled and amazed us. Their BBC recordings from the early 1970s and the Santorsola double concert are but a few personal highlights in what was an influential and impressive life and career. We never sadly met Sergio but we corresponded via email and memorably fax which would come through in a long written letter in the middle of the night with his generous appraisal of our first duo recordings. Many thanks Sergio 🙏🙏🙏🙏
