RUN FOR ROTC | The 11th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, will host a region-wide "FUN RUN" in support of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) on December 9, 2023, at 4:30 AM.

With the theme "Takbo na para sa ROTC Program," the Fun Run aims to promote the ROTC, foster physical stamina and sportsmanship among ROTC Cadets and Reservists in the Davao Region, and unite the people against terrorism.

Participants can choose between the 3KM and 5KM categories, with events simultaneously taking place in the following venues:

- People's Park, Davao City
- Digos City, Davao del Sur
- Tagum City, Davao del Norte
- Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental
- Kolehiyo ng Pantukan, Davao de Oro

ROTC Cadets, Armed Forces of the Philippines Regular and Reservist personnel, Philippine National Police and Philippine Coast Guard personnel, members of the Academe, Civil Society Organizations, and other organizations within Region XI are encouraged to join.

LOOK|| Army Reservist Elda Louise Aznar bagged the 1st Runner-up title in Miss CosmoWorld International 2023

Davao City – Ms. Elda Louise Aznar, 27 years old, who just graduated the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2023 conducted by the 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army won as 1st Runner-up in the Miss CosmoWorld International 2023 Competition held at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today, November 30, 2023.

Prior to the said international event, Ms. Aznar, representing Davao del Sur was crowned as the Miss CosmoWorld Philippines among the 20 other competitors held at Aliw Theater, Pasay City last October 12, 2023. She also won majority of the subsidiary titles of the Miss CosmoWorld International 2023 Finals such as Miss Healthy, Miss Glamorous, Miss Personality, and Best in National Costume. She succeeds last year’s title holder and reigning Miss CosmoWorld 2022 Meiji Cruz.

The Miss CosmoWorld mission is to provide life-changing values, enhancing opportunities for deserving and world-class Filipinas.

On the other hand, COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA congratulated Ms. Aznar for another milestone in her life bringing glory and pride to the Filipino people. “On behalf of the 11RCDG, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude and recognition to Ms. Aznar for winning the International Beauty Competition and for proudly promoting herself as an Army Reservist from Davao Region”, Caberto said. Davao City – The 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army under the leadership of COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA attended the 160th Birth Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, one of the country’s national hero held at Andres Bonifacio Rotunda, CM Recto St, Davao City on November 30, 2023 with COMMODORE REJARD V MARFE, Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Southeastern Mindanao as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS).

Also present during the activity were City Vice Mayor J. Melchor B. Quitain Jr representing City Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte, local officials, department heads, and employees of the City Government of Davao, BGEN CONSOLITO P YECLA PA, Commander, Joint Task Force Haribon, EMC, AFP, 1003Bde, TF Davao, 56IB, PAF, PN, PNP, PCG, BFP, BJMP, reservist personnel from 1105th Ready Reserve Infantry Bn, and different organizations.

One of the highlights of the program was the conduct of Wreath Laying Ceremony headed by Vice Mayor Quitain together with AFP, PNP units, and agencies of the government.

The Philippines has been celebrating Andres Bonifacio Day annually in honor of the latter who was the founder and eventual “Supremo of the Katipunan”. Likewise, Bonifacio was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary leader who played a key role in the Philippine struggle for independence against Spanish colonial rule in the late 19th century.

On the other hand, the City Government of Davao expressed its utmost gratitude for the unwavering services rendered by the uniformed personnel and for maintaining peace and order in the entire City.

Further, COL CABERTO commended the City Government of Davao for the continuing partnership and support to 11RCDG which immeasurably contributed to our current efforts on Reserve Force Development. He also stressed the significant contribution of Andres Bonifacio to our country which is worthy of emulation. “The heroic act of Andres Bonifacio serves as an inspiration to every Filipino, who in one way or another longing for lasting peace and fighting against the colonizers in exchange of freedom for the sake of our beloved country”, Caberto said. Davao City – Senator Imee R. Marcos visited the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Main Campus in Obrero, Davao City for the educational assistance (payout) to 2,000 students of the said University on November 26, 2023. The said activity was initiated by the DSWD XI in coordination with the USeP Officials headed by Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr, the University President.

After the payout, Sen. Marcos had a chance to talk with the USeP ROTC Training Staff headed by LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, ROTC Commandant, ROTC Officers, and Cadet Officers Qualification Course (COQC) aspirants at USeP Parade Grounds. The said activity was also witnessed by COL EDGAR CRISANTO R VIOLAN GSC PA (RES), Deputy Brigade Commander, 2201st Ready Reserve Brigade, PA, Prof. Richard E. Aceron, NSTP Director, Prof. Allan H. Navales, ROTC Coordinator, USeP faculty members, parents/guardians, and Dr. Gabales who formally introduced Sen. Marcos to the Cadets. Sen. Marcos stressed the importance of the ROTC as a major source of the Reserve Force and its contribution to the overall mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Prior to the arrival of Sen. Marcos, the USeP ROTC Unit held its Opening Ceremony on COQC Training attended by 40 ROTC Officers aspirants with COL VIOLAN as Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS). The training is designed to develop the leadership skills and potentials of the Cadets, promote camaraderie, teamwork, and unity and also one of the pre-requisites for the ROTC Summer Camp Training (RSCT) and Advance ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT).

On the other hand, COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, the Group Commander, 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA expressed his gratitude to Sen. Marcos who took time to talk with the ROTC Cadets despite her hectic schedules. “The message of Sen. Davao City – In line with the 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army current programs and initiatives and support to the implementation of End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in the sustainment areas of the 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, estimated 1,595 individuals mostly Indigenous People (IP) availed the different services during the “5th Serbisyo Caravan Para sa Dabawenyo” of 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA in partnership and collaboration with 1002nd Infantry Brigade, 39th Infantry Bn, Philippine Red Cross Davao del Sur, LGUs of Davao del Sur and Digos City, National Government Agencies, and different stakeholders/organizations on November 18, 2023, at Brgy Binaton, Digos City.

The said program basically aims to deliver basic social services to the local residents in the area who have been victims of the lies and deception of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and to prevent the latter from conducting recovery works.

Among the services offered and extended were medical and dental consultation, operation “tuli”, free haircut, feeding, BP check-ups, legal consultation, and services, eye check-ups and giving of free eyeglasses, distribution/giving of food packs, distribution of slippers, toys, snacks, school supplies, hygiene kits, used clothes, and police assistance desk.

Moreover, the activity was also highlighted with the presence of COL ARIEL QUERUBIN PN (M) RET, who is also incorporated into the Reserve Force and gave an inspirational message. He stressed the importance of sustaining peace and development initiatives in the area for it will surely prevent the resurgence of the Communist Terrorist Groups.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to 11RCDG and its partner agencies and stakeholders for bringing the different services closer to the people.

Davao City – As part of our efforts to support law enforcement agencies in their campaign against crime and stop the proliferation of illegally owned fi****ms and ammunition and in support to the implementation of RA 10591 otherwise known as Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army under the leadership of COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA in collaboration and partnership with the Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) XI, Civil Security Group, Philippine National Police facilitated 1-day License to Own and Possess Fi****ms (LTOPF) Caravan held at Hqs 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA Camp San Gabriel, Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City on November 17, 2023.

The said caravan was attended by 93 personnel composed of the regular personnel from 11RCDG and EMC, AFP, reservist personnel, and other civilians who volunteered to apply and avail the said services.

PCOL RICHARD B VERCELES, Chief of RCSU XI, CSG, PNP appreciated the efforts of the 11RCDG for such initiative and that it will surely contribute to their mandate specifically on accounting and documenting fi****ms to be legally owned. He also emphasized that their unit is in charge and supervises the licensing and registration of fi****ms and explosives and regulates business operations and activities of all organized private detectives, watchmen, security guards/agencies, and company guard forces.

On the other hand, COL CABERTO reiterated his guidance that all regular and reservist personnel under the supervision and administration of the 11RCDG should be aware of the provisions and strictly adhere to the protocols for carrying and transporting fi****ms. “It is a must and our prime obligation to submit ourselves to law enforcement agencies to legally document our fi****ms as part of our sworn duty as a law-abiding citizen of the state”, Caberto said. Davao Region, November 13, 2023 – The 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, led by COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, successfully conducted an evaluation of the 1102RRIBn and 1105RRIBn from November 11 to 12, 2023. COL NOLI P KANASHIRO INF (GSC) PA and COL VIRGINIA N ANG CAV (GSC) PA headed the Evaluation Teams for 1102RRIBn and 1105RRIBn, respectively.

This evaluation is in line with the guidance of MGEN ROMULO A MANUEL JR PA, Commander, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, emphasizing the importance of evaluating RRIBn for "Best-Best" CY 2023 to strengthen the overall defense and security capabilities of Ready Reserve Units (RRUs). The main objectives include assessing the operational readiness of RRUs and ensuring their capability to assume the Regular Force's role when needed.

Upon the arrival of the Evaluation Team, they identified the areas for inspection and evaluation, addressing any related concerns. Throughout the activities, the RRUs provided unit briefings and presented documents such as Letters of Instruction, After Activity Reports, and guidelines for conducting After Action Reviews.

The evaluation of the RRUs highlights the Reserve Command, Philippine Army's commitment to assessing the effectiveness, administrative status, and operational readiness of our RRUs. This proactive measure is crucial in maintaining a well-prepared and responsive force.

COL CABERTO expressed his sincere gratitude to the Reservist Officers and Enlisted Reservists for their dedication during the evaluation. “Let us ensure that our RRUs are capacitated and well-trained even during peacetime and are responsive to any crisis situations,” Caberto said. (OS7, 11RCDG)
