Melissa Truax, MA, LMFT. Melissa is a counselor at the clinic. She started at the clinic during the last school year. She enjoys spending time with her kids and puppy.
Jay Passa is the Health Education Coordinator at the clinic. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health Education from Bemidji State University. Jay has 20 years of experience working in college health education and health promotion as a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist. He enjoys spending time with his family on their boat.
Jan Anderson is the Medical Technologist at SCHC. She will be starting her 24th year at BSU! She loves going on walks and getting outside as much as she can! She also likes to be in the kitchen and spend time at home. Jan has three children and three grandchildren.
Jennifer Fraik, NP, is the nurse practitioner at the clinic. She has her bachelor degree in nursing from Bemidji State and her Masters of Science in nursing from University of North Dakota. She will be beginning her 6th year as a nurse practitioner at BSU. She loves spending time outside. Her life revolves around her two boys. They like to go park-hopping and she brings her hammock so she can read while the kids play. She also likes to go Geocaching and find treasures. They go fishing almost every weekend. She spends hours at the hockey rink where her boys play, and she coaches. She enjoys using her minimally artistic skills and attends TAD paintings occasionally. She hiked to the summit of her first mountain, Green Mountain, this year after the American College Health Association conference and it was amazing! “I love my work at BSU, the students are so energizing to work with and help fuel my desire to keep learning and challenging myself as I help them to gain their optimal wellness!”
Kristi Reiplinger, LPN, is the nurse at the clinic. Kristi will be beginning her 10th year as a nurse at BSU. She received her nursing degree from NTC. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree from Winona State in Health Care Leadership and Administration. She enjoys spending time with her family and being outside. In her free time, she likes to swim, fish and garden.
Amanda Gartner, MA,LPCC, is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Amanda will be beginning her 3rd year working as a counselor at BSU. Amanda attended UMD and received her undergraduate degree in Spanish Studies. She later went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from St. Thomas. Amanda enjoys cats, dogs, and the outdoors. In her free time, she likes to kayak, play disc golf, travel and go mountain climbing. Amanda also runs the Daring Greatly group on campus.
