Let's talk window cover best practices! We get TONS of questions about our window covers each week. Here's a recap on our top 3 tricks 🙌🏼

1. When putting your window cover in place, orient the cover so
that the black fabric faces the outside and the straps are on
the top of the cover (excluding front window covers). Window
covers are designed to be oversized and press into
place.

2. All window covers use an accordion style fold for storage. Be
sure to pay attention to how the window cover is folded
when it arrives for correct storage use.

3. Use the integrated black velcro straps to keep the window cover packed
flat and the included storage bag for an extra layer of
protection.

"We are a family of 3, soon to be 4 who decided to quit the 8-5 and live out one of our dreams of doing van life! One day we randomly decided to just go for it and started the process by purchasing an empty cargo van. It has been so fun being able to live out our adventures with our family in tow! Our layout prioritizes good sleep in a big comfy bed and efficient storage for our toys and tools that we live on the road to enjoy. We love our little home but we love even more the ever changing front yard and access to the outdoors that this lifestyle provides. See ya on the road!”

“Before van life, my partner, Derek, was a general contractor (he built our first house from scratch) and I ran my private after school program. We had 2 dogs, Lychee and Chloe. Everything was okay until our Lychee passed away at the age of 10. Nothing felt right after Lychee was gone. That’s when we decided to make drastic changes in our life in terms of lifestyle and health consciousness. We are thankful that Chloe is still with us but her health was poor (she was 9 years old). We wanted to spend as much time with her as we could. And van life was the only way that we could work and travel with Chloe as much as possible. ⁠

Fast forward 6 years…we are now full-time van lifers and van builders. We sold our house and our after-school business and have been on the road full-time for 5 years. Derek uses his knowledge from his previous work as a general contractor to build vans and has done several , both for clients and for sale. ⁠
⁠
And Chloe is still with us. I really believe that if we didn’t make these drastic changes in our life, Chloe might not be here with us today. God let Chloe stay on this earth a little longer to remind us that it’s never too late to fix our health, our happiness, and change the course of our life. With van life, there’s less stress, less concern about money, the freedom to travel anytime, working on the go, sustainable living, meeting new people, constant inspiration and more outdoor time. All of these improve our family’s health and quality of life. And along this journey, we also welcomed a new puppy to our van life family - Pepper.” ⁠

"Our design was about two things. A full bed that I can stretch out in (I'm 6'1") and a convenient, safe place for the bikes. So a bike slide was a must. Along with that comes all the tools, spare parts and a good bike pump. ⁠
⁠
My favorite van hack on the bike slide is attaching a magnetic strip to the front inside of the bike tray. It silently holds all my loose allen and torx keys, multi tools, etc. I really like having them visible and not hidden inside a tool box or drawer somewhere. Adhesives don't work well in the PHX area due to triple digit summers, so magnetics are my best friend for insane temperature fluctuations. And no rattles!⁠

Even after a bazillion Youtube videos I hadn't seen this, not to say someone else hasn't done this - I'm sure they have. I think any magnetic kitchen knife holder will work. I got this one at Ikea. It's narrow and fits great on a 2x2. Gotta love the simple little ideas that make storage easy in a van with bikes!"⁠
