Missouri Buddy Check 22 Day Posters
The new Missouri Buddy Check 22 Day poster encourages people to “check in” with someone on the 22nd of each month, promotes the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, and represents a united front with veteran service organizations and state agencies, in preventing su***de. Over 1,100 posters are being distributed to veteran service organizations, Missouri National Guard, and Missouri Veteran Commission locations across the state.
Participating organizations include: Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW-Dept of Missouri, The American Legion Department of Missouri, DAV Missouri, Marine Corps League - Department of Missouri, Missouri National Guard, Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Veterans Commission and Missouri Governor's Challenge Team.

Come and attend the MAVO Legislative Days on January 23rd, and the Rally at the Capitol on January 24th.
The High School Oratorical contest at the District level is this Sunday, Jan 8th at Post 5 in Jefferson City. The contest will start at 1:00 p.m. A light lunch will be served after the contest and the Eighth District meeting will take place after lunch.

Just a reminder that the District 8 business meeting and memorial service will be on Sun, Jun 12 2022 at 11 am at Post 624 in Sunrise Beach. Memorial Service begins at 11 am, followed immediately by lunch and then the business meeting.
We are a weekend later than normal as many of our active members and District 8 officers are attending a Legion Riders Legacy run in another state this first weekend this year. I would have been with them if it hadn't been for recent back surgery. I'm back up and doing well so I hope to see you all there on Jun 12th!
