Listening to popular pro-wrestling analysts is a special kind of hell reserved for people who don't like to think for themselves.

THE BUILD

Wrestling and politics go hand in hand. In fact I wager you, the prowrestling fan have a better grasp on the machinations of politics than the average citizen. What we just witnessed (Joe Biden stepping down) was a similar quagmire to The Rock showing up to take Cody’s rightful place.

Now we have a new contender in Kamala Harris who needs to introduce herself to the fans (America) and attempt to “get over” in a relatively short period of time.

The Work Of Wrestling fully endorses Kamala Harris. I believe she is poised and good on the mic. I can’t express what a nice change of pace it is to have a candidate who can string coherent sentences together and who doesn’t belittle the office by being mean and petty. A seasoned litigator, she is strong and won’t back down from a fight.

I’m rooting for her. I want to see her have a WrestleMania moment, and make history.

I fully expect some dissenting opinions on this and that’s fine, just don’t be insane and angry.

BEHIND THE CURTAIN

I was setting up my meds for the week when I thought, "I should show this". So here it is, a peak behind the curtain into what makes me tick. I'm on five different medications: one for my triglycerides, one for my blood pressure, one for depression, and the rest are anti-psychotics (which treat my bipolar disorder).

There's a stigma against meds, therapy, and, in general, taking care of one's self. These meds, particularly Zyprexa and Lithium, allow me to better function in the world. They also help me enjoy my life.

I wouldn't be able to give you episodes of the podcast if I didn't have the assist these meds provide. My thinking would veer off into paranoia and psychosis and I'd start seeing the world as out to get me. I'd read "signs" and extrapolate great universal meaning from them, believing I was tuned in to a higher form of consciousness.

For those afraid of medication, I understand. But none of it changes my personality. Their effect is subtle, at times barely noticeable, working in the long term.

I took this photo of my first microphone 9 years ago. The time has flown by. I want to do something special for the ten year anniversary of the pod. Not sure what that will be yet. I know I’m on hiatus and have taken breaks throughout those 9 years but it still feels good to be around and to have created something with longevity.

THE URBAN DREAMS EXPERIENCE

Hello all. Thank you for indulging in another non-wrestling post - I promise to get back to wrestling when I'm sufficiently inspired. But, for now, here's a description of my experience at The Urban Dreams Film Festival. In short, it was great, and seeing my film on the big screen evoked emotions in me I plan to chase. But even if I never get a film screened again I can die knowing my short played in Manhattan. Enjoy!
