On September 21st, the whole world observes the International Day of Peace, a day meant to strengthen the ideals of peace and harmony, through personal non-violence and 24 hour ceasefire in case of military operations.

This year, the United Nations want to turn our attention to the mistreatment of racial minorities - be it by hate speech or by unequal social privileges, which undermine efforts to create global harmony. They also want to remind us how we can work together to solve this problem on a personal level - by standing up against hate, unjust treatment and exclusion, or by supporting likeminded movements working to create a better world for everyone.

Our mission at TripSit caters to those ideals - we strive to create a safe, friendly and actively moderated environment for everyone in need of advice. Our slogan, “You’re with friends here”, embodies ideals that are actively maintained throughout all of our operations.

We want you to help in building the global peace - stand up against the hate and injustice, support your local movements, not only on this , but everyday. Visit https://www.un.org/en/observances/international-day-peace for more resources on how to contribute to this cause.

Today, on September 10th, we observe World Su***de Prevention Day, which focuses on ways to help those affected by su***de, their families and whole societies.

World Health Organization (WHO) points out that statistically, more than 700 thousand people die due to su***de attempts each year. 700 thousand completely avoidable tragedies - if only the victims were heard, understood and cared for, and most importantly - not stigmatized for their problems.

This is the reason why today TripSit and our community want to show our everlasting support for the cause - we always are . This is why our community’s motto is “You’re with friends here”. We want everyone who contacts us to be heard, cared for to the best of our knowledge and abilities, and not judged - just like friends do. We strongly believe this is the best way to promote not only Harm Reduction, but also provide general peer-advice as well.

We want you to reach out to one person who you think could do with some love and uderstanding. Be a friend, everybody needs one. Visit https://www.iasp.info/wspd/ to learn more about ***dePreventionDay.

August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day, a day that is personally significant to a lot of us. This day we, as a whole community, extend our sincere thoughts and heartfelt prayers to those affected by drug overdoses: those who lost someone they loved due to it, those who are struggling themselves and those who care for people who struggle.

aims to spread the message about the tragedies of overdose and its preventability. It allows people to voice out the grief of losing their loved ones to drug overdose, without prejudice and disrespect. Finally, it aims to provoke the social discourse, to inspire changes in substance-related lawmaking, so that governments provide support, instead of incarceration to drug users, who deserve care, treatment and respect - just like every human being does.

We, as a Harm Reduction community, are actively trying to prevent overdoses not only by educating the public on substance safety and prevention, but also during our real time peer-support chats, where we advise people to seek emergency medical care if their symptoms point to a possible overdose.

If you want to take part in the effort and observe today’s , consider donating to your local Harm Reduction organization. Visit https://www.overdoseday.com/ for more information on how you can help the cause.
