The AI chat box ChatGPT is hot on the news recently. Some people say it could be a great learning tool, so I tried it with an example that I have been using in my physics class:

Venus Williams’ serving speed record is 129 mph. If the ball has a mass of 0.06 kg and is in contact with the racket for 4 ms. What is the force exerted on the ball by her racket? Is the force large enough to lift 155 lbs, her own weight?

The final answer ChatGPT gave me was completely wrong because it made a mistake doing basic math calculations:

"Force = impulse / time
= (mass x velocity) / time
= (0.06 kg x 129 mph x 0.447) / (4 x 10^-3 s)
= 4.12 N
This is the force exerted on the ball.
Now, 1 N is roughly 0.2248 lbs, so the force exerted on the ball is about 9.4 lbs. So it is not large enough to lift 155 lbs."
