Fresh off the heels of his Melbourne International Comedy Festival - Best Newcomer nomination
(2023) and sold-out shows at Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2024) and Sydney Comedy Festival (2024); Andrew embarks on his first extended national tour with the show that launched his career.

In 2021, Andrew spent four months in two of Sydney’s maximum-security prisons for the commercial supply of psychedelic drugs. While incarcerated, Andrew began noticing the transportive power of laughter. After all, if a joke can make you forget you’re in prison, what else can it do?
Upon his release, Andrew took up stand-up comedy, initially under strict bail conditions where his parents had to come with him to shows, and he had to be home in time for curfew. He has since gone on to be nominated for Best Newcomer at MICF 2023, sell out shows at major festivals around the country, and feature as member of the viral YouTube channel, YeahMadTV.

Curated by writer and artist, Kevin Wilson, this exhibition takes a very different viewpoint on the concept of ‘natural place’. It works from the assumption that our perspective and understanding of ‘natural place’ is imbued with our own lived experience. In a sense, when we look at a place, we inevitably look in a mirror at ourselves.

This exhibition builds upon a unique research project that took place on a 101-hectare forested property in Kin Kin. The property was once home to W. D. Francis, a renowned botanist who served as the second Queensland government botanist in the early 1900s. The project involved 21 First Nations and other artists, geologists, surveyors, farmers, Landcare, and Land for Wildlife officers who participated in embodied traversing interviews on the property. As a result of their collaboration, 21 short films were produced.
