Bucks of the Jicarilla

Rick’s Triple is complete!!! After getting wind of this mass and trash monster, the game plan was on. With the bucks last known location on grid search with the team, it was only a matter of time before he was spotted. Rick was able to put this monster down and complete his task of getting three awesome mule deer on the Jicarilla! Congrats Rick on a once in a lifetime hunt!

Having missed the opportunity at our target buck early in the hunt, we had no luck being able to turn him up again. We glassed up deer after deer, day in and day out until we finally got our eyes on this awesome buck. As we watched this stud wander around a sage flat circling his does, Darrell took one look at him and said, "We need to take him." Congrats to Darrell on his Jicarilla Muley!!!

Typical of the day. Rick opted for a long tined typical for his second mule deer this season. Congratulations on another awesome muley Rick!

Congrats to Corey on taking down the big frame buck known as "Squiggles"! We watched him last year and knew if he survived the winter he would be a slammer this year. He returned to his stomping grounds and Corey punched his tag!

There are Big Bucks and then there are Big Bucks with a story! We had caught the end of a fight as this big guy put the hurts to another buck. We then captured one of the most awesome photos of the aftermath.
Rick could not pass on the opportunity to take down a one of a kind muley with a story! Congrats to Rick on his awesome trophy!

Big Buck Down!!!

Being able to turn up a giant before the hunt is not an easy task. Being able to find that giant on opening day is an even harder task.

After catching a glimpse of this giant at last light the night before we knew we had to go find him the next morning! Congrats to Jon M. on his herd bull!!!

There was no passing on a bull this big! Congrats to Shiela on her trophy bull!!!

Tanner and Shelby S. doubled up on their hunt and both took down some awesome Bulls! Congrats!!!

The challenge to take down a bull with a long bow is one Ryan would make look easy! With the evening open, it did not take long to get with in shooting range and place a perfect arrow putting the bull down in seconds! Congrats to another bull with a traditional bow!!!

Sometimes the Big Bulls don't sound so big. Hearing this bull bugle on top of the ridge, we were convinced he was going to be a small rag horn. We decided to setup anyway to see if he wanted to play. A few bugles and some raking got him worked up and ready to rumble! He walked in to 10 yards and it was Game Over!

Last day Luck! After a quiet afternoon it was looking as if tag soup was on the menu. Hunter whipped up some secret sauce and got this bull to answer and it was GAME ON! As the bull turned to walk away, a quick whistle got his attention long enough to place a perfect arrow, putting the bull down in seconds! What a way to end the hunt!

With time running down on the hunt clock, Aaron drop the lead on this Great Bull! Congrats on a Giant Aaron!

Congrats to John M. on taking down this giant! There was no hiding on this hunt as Ryan and Patrick found this toad in the deepest canyon they could find. The packout required some 4low and mud grips to climb out of this steep canyon before the storm rolled in!

There is nothing like harvesting a bull with character! Congrats to Bill on taking down an awesome crazy bull! His right antler is nothing short of awesome!

With rain in the forecast the next few days, Kyle did not want to be fighting the mud on the mountain. Luckily, they were able to find this beautiful typical hiding in the thick brush! Congrats to Kyle on his awesome symmetrical bull!

Non talking bulls made this hunt a tough 3 days. That didn't stop Robert from dropping one in the wheelhouse on this bad boy. Huge thanks to Zach for helping on this hunt and a Huge Congratulations to Robert D. on his trophy bull!

Hot temps make for some quiet and non responsive bulls. It was a tough 3 days of nothing but on the that 3rd evening the eyes behind the glass found this toad! Brian got into position and made a great shot putting this giant down! Congrats on your Giant Brian!!!

It was a tough decision ending the hunt four days in but when this is the first bull you see, it's a no brainer whether to let that arrow fly or not. Watching him rake a tree for a few minutes, we set up and it was game time! Congrats to Dom on a stud archery Rez bull! The bar is set high for this year!

After seeing this giant 3 days before the hunt, he went into hiding and the search for "Lucky" was on! On the second evening, Collin spotting the bull at the edge of the water the rest was history! Congrats Collin on slamming this monster!

Opening Day on the Jicarilla! Kent wasted no time pulling the trigger on this wicked triple brow bull! Congrats on an awesome Bull Kent!!!

Mass Mass and more Mass! This unbelievable buck has 48" of mass!!! All we needed was one quick look at this buck and we were screaming SHOOT HIM JIM!!! Congratulations to Jim on his once in a lifetime Mule Deer!

After sitting on this buck for two days, opening day couldn’t come fast enough! We sat on him for a few hours and he finally gave Casey the opportunity to take a shot. Congrats to Casey on his Magnificent Buck!

When the buck known as "Ice Pick" survived 2021, we knew he was going to be a stud this year. Chili was able to find him again and Brady wasted no time taking him down. Congrats to Brady on his awesome monster muley!
