Today is a quite simply a cranked-up Bandwagonesque kinda day!!

Words on Wednesday: “The headland (No metaphors)”

A screech of geese takes laboured flight
While a lollop of flapping lapwings sing
Startled by the marauding footsteps
Wending their way through aching beds of thirsty kelp
And winding over shaking sheets of drying sand
Onlooking, serrated rocks crawl from a moody brine
While smiling, the low slung sun illuminates the gloom of an incoming storm

We make our way along the waters tender edge
Lost in thoughts, bloated by this tranquil idyll
Silent yet joined
Parted yet merged
Calmed and still
All clatter eclipsed
Ideas reaching out to kiss
The headland stands supporting a renewal of sorts
The flotsam and jetsam
Now simply that
Mere form and physicality presented by a discerning surf
No metaphors here
Just the shore
