Avery's Garden Inc. A Nonprofit that specializes in helping families who have experienced a death through miscarriage, stillbirth and early infant loss.

Welcome to Avery's Garden. This is a place to come together and be inspired. After the loss of my first pregnancy in June of 2016, I have struggled with ways to embrace the new normal life beside me. It wasn't until October 2016: Infant Loss Awareness Month, when I took part in a project called Capture Your Grief, that a little piece of the puzzle started to fit. I spent time focusing on myself an

Good Evening and Happy Wednesday Beautiful Loss Families,

It is my great honor to announce the final bereavement retreat scheduled for 2023 this fall! This event will be hosted by Avery's Garden at Lynx Run Wilderness Retreat located in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Included is a full itinerary of the weekend. Details and a breakdown of each day are shown within the slides.

To be considered as a guest of this event, please email us at [email protected], Subject line: Bereavement Retreat, and specify your interest and any questions you may have for us to answer.

This event will be fully funded using the hard-earned money that has been brought into the Nonprofit by donations, grants and coloring book proceeds made over the last seven years since Avery's passing.

As a result, I am asking that only those who are fully committed apply for our registration. Due to limited space, it will be first come first serve and if there is a cancellation at any point after there may be a cancellation fee assessed if we cannot fill the space with another well-deserving member(s) of the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Community. We want to make it fair for those who can benefit from this event, the chance to attend. Your cooperation will be much appreciated.

Once your application has been approved, I will email back a registration form. Upon completion and return of the form, I will then send a confirmation, address, and directions to the property.

Thank you in advance for the interest and support shown. As this is our second bereavement event, we are very excited and look forward to providing a beautiful space for all guests to continue on their healing journeys.

The dates of September 29th to October 1st were carefully selected as we entered the fall and observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

With love and gratitude,

Good Evening and Happy Independence Day, My Beautiful Loss Families!

I wanted to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude to those who have supported both myself and Avery's Garden Nonprofit Organization the last seven years.

To put it mildly, it has been a wild adventure, but one that I am sure was meant for me to step into.

As most of you know, my journey has been a difficult one. Avery's death burst me open and made me face deep traumas that were excruciatingly painful and has continued to open doors for more lessons but also more healing.

Avery's life led me down a path that I never thought I would have been on, but I am SO thankful that even though I wanted to quit many many times, that I found the strength and power to continue. Not only for myself and my son, but for all of the brothers and sisters I met on this road that needed uplifting and support in return.

It's been a true honor and privilege to be of service in the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Community, and I will cherish each and every encounter and child I was blessed to meet along the way. Always.

On Friday, July 7th, I will open my heart up to the next chapter. Hosting my first bereavement retreat at the property I am currently living at as an assistant to the owner of the land.

I spent today running errands and buying supplies from the proceeds I have saved the last several years through donations, coloring book sales, grants, and seasonal celebrations. None of this would be possible if it weren't for the generosity and support of what I had to offer to our community and I owe each and every one of you who has contributed, a sincere thank you.

I was able to make 10 special giftbags and purchase food for our guests so far. Any additional expenses will be paid for with our nest egg, and I know deep within my heart will be cherished by the beautiful families we will have in attendance.

Thank you so much for believing in me. For believing in my cause and trusting me when I said that I was going to do right for our tribe. I still have many goals and dreams of where we will go and can not stress enough how much I appreciate the outpouring of love.

Xo

Good Afternoon Beautiful Loss Families,

We are still looking for individuals and couples interested in attending our first annual bereavement retreat set for July 7-9 2023 in Big Rapids, Michigan.

One of the activities planned during the weekend is to give our guests the time to explore their own creative grief by painting something from nature that symbolizes their lost child.

I will be helping encourage each person to tap into their artistic abilities while honoring their precious little ones as art has always been one of the things that helped soothe my soul over the years since losing Avery.

I will be doing a raffle at that time to give away two paintings that I did at the retreat in March of 2023. The first, titled "Through The Looking Glass" and the second, titled "A Wildflower Walk at Sunset".

Please see my prior posts if you are interested in learning about the retreat and how to register for this FREE event weekend in nature.

Sending love and light,
Tara

Good Morning and Happy June 1st Beautiful Loss Families,

As a reminder, we are still accepting registration for our first annual bereavement retreat set for July 7-9 2023. This is a FREE event that includes food, lodging, and entertainment paid for through Avery's Garden Nonprofit Organization.

One of the special activities planned for the Friday evening is to sit in the courtyard and do a candle lighting ceremony in honor of our babies.

There are multiple stone entryways that invite you into one of my favorite spots of the property.

In the courtyard, there are tranquil sitting areas that pair beautifully with all the perfectly placed plants and flowers.

I envisioned our candles burning bright as we stargaze and take in the stars that come out with such limited light pollution it's almost as if we can see into the entire galaxy.

We still have both courtyard rooms and camping options available for those who wish to attend. Please feel welcome to email me at [email protected] to complete your registration or private message me if that is easier.

Kindly like and share this post to spread the word on this incredible opportunity. We would love to see this event be successful and benefit any individuals or couples who need a retreat from grief and a space to heal.

Good Evening Beautiful Loss Families,

For those of you who have followed the journey of Avery’s Garden, 501c3 Nonprofit Organization, you may know that for some time, I have been on a mission to purchase land for the bereavement community.

When Avery passed away, I knew deep down the importance of creating a safe space for us to connect with not only our babies but with beautiful Mother Nature. Mixing in spirituality and many of the creative arts.

For the last seven years, I have looked high and low for land. Wanting nothing more than to build us a sanctuary and a tree house retreat to call home.

Last year, my personal life went through several major changes. But, within the hard transformation came an opportunity at an existing retreat center I strongly believe to be beneficial to any and all who are seeking to heal. And while we don't own the land, it is exactly where I believe the universe wishes for us to be in these moments in time.

After much thought, I have decided it is time for Avery's Garden to grow and experience our first ever bereavement event. From July 7-9 2023, I will be hosting a weekend filled with activities that will welcome individuals and couples looking for time away from grief. We will come together in a 20-acre space for what I believe will be something truly magical.

All food, lodging, and activities will be paid for by our Nonprofit, and the generous donations I have been able to save over the years. We will have courtyard rooms and campsites available to accommodate the guests who wish to attend.

In the coming days, I will provide further details of the weekend itinerary and how to reserve your stay.

Sending Love and Light,
Tara and Avery
