The latest Touch of Blue release, ‘Keep On’ ( ) — some clips from the weekend the song was first written and demo’d plus some audio of the final production. 👌
Working on Touch of Blue’s catalogue over the last 30+ months has been both challenging and hugely rewarding.
Since 1st June, 2020, the band has released TWO remastered old recordings (one from 1996, the other from 2002), remixes of FIVE songs released with their 2017 ‘comeback EP’, ‘Then, Again’ and TWELVE brand new recordings. Out of the 5 remixes and 12 new recordings, the ‘vintage’ of the songs varies greatly, spanning almost the entire length of the near-36 years the band has been together.
Today sees the release of ToB’s 19th single, ‘Ain’t My Time Of Day’, originally written in 1993/94 and re-arranged (with a part-new lyric) last year, produced by Searchlight Music Production & Touch of Blue. However, there’s no time to rest…. not with the next 4 singles scheduled to be released before the end of June!
61 months after Touch of Blue’s ‘comeback’ EP, ‘Then, Again’ was released, ‘Emotionally Prone’ — the band’s 16th single since the beginning of June, 2020 — will be the final song from that EP to be re-mixed (by yours truly), re-mastered (by Pete Maher) and released as a stand-alone single.
The latest single from Touch of Blue (OUT TOMORROW!) took longer to mix than it should. And, it’s BECAUSE I took it for granted that it would be ‘straightforward’ that I ended up having to START FROM SCRATCH…. 🤦♂️ In the end, though, I got the right sound for the song; and both the band and I are very, VERY pleased with the final product (after it was mastered by Pete Maher at Top Floor Music 👌) and are very much of the opinion will give Touch of Blue their best release to date. 🤞
