It’s quiet tonight. Not very far I guess.

You can hear the train down the hills from me rumble towards the West Coast. It’s the same train my friend jumped on a lark and ended up almost frozen to death in Deming before it slowed down enough to jump off. Another friend had to drive all the way out to pick him up. The train rides the tracks that split us from them, north from south, rich from poor, First World from Third. Wherever I go, peo

Quick clip of us surprising our buddy Mike Lillie for his birthday. Awesome night in Hayward WI. Thanks to Red Dog for capturing the beautiful moment on his phone. Mike had to take a step outside to gather himself. Took a lot for Rev. Todd Seelau & I to keep playing. We had to take a moment & hug it out. Love you bro. Can’t wait to be back with Jonny Bang and a full set up.

Missing Chris Cornell. 🖤 🌘

Follow me into the desert
As thirsty as you are
Crack a smile and cut your mouth
And drown in alcohol
'Cause down below the truth is lying
Beneath the river bed
So quench yourself and drink the water
That flows below her head
Oh no
There she goes
Out in the sunshine
The sun is mine, the sun is mine
I shot my love today
Would you cry for me?
I lost my head again
Would you lie for me?
Close your eyes and bow your head
I need a little sympathy
'Cause fear is strong and love's for everyone
Who isn't me
Kill your health and kill yourself
And kill everything you love
And if you live you can fall to pieces
And suffer with my ghost
I shot my love today
Would you cry for me?
I lost my head again
Would you lie for me?
I left her in the sand
Just a burden in my hand
I lost my head again
Would you cry for me?
Just a burden in my hand
Just an anchor on my heart
It's just a tumor in my head
And I'm in the dark
So follow me into the desert
As desperate as you are
Where the moon is glued to a picture of heaven
And all the little pigs have God
Oh no
There she goes
Out in the sunshine
The sun is mine, the sun is mine
I shot my love today
Would you cry for me, yeah?
I lost my head again
Would you lie for me?
I left her in the sand
Just a burden in my hand
I lost my head again
Would you cry for me?
Yeah, would you cry for me?

El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (the Royal Road of the Interior) extended 1,700 miles from Mexico City to Santa Fe. A 580-mile portion of El Camino Real, known as the Chihuahua Trail, connected Ciudad Chihuahua with El Paso del Norte and Santa Fe.

The Chihuahua Trail is a vast area of difficult terrain, intense heat, low humidity, high winds, and negligible precipitation. Travelers faced numerous hardships and many died along the trail.

In the 1600s, a freight caravan came north from Mexico City every three to four years, mainly to supply the missions located in what is now New Mexico. The trip from Ciudad Chihuahua to Santa Fe took three months. They brought supplies, building tools, church furnishings, priestly vestments, and sacramental wine. In the 1700s and 1800s, private contractors organized yearly wagon trains. They hauled freight that included necessities as well as luxury items.

The story of El Camino Real is part of the Museum's Spanish Colonial section in the Heritage Gallery.

The Farm & Ranch Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. This exhibit and all others at the Museum are made possible by the support of the Friends of the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum. The Museum is a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs.

Con dinero y sin dinero
Yo hago siempre lo que quiero
Y mi palabra es la ley
No tengo trono ni reina
Ni nadie que me comprenda
Pero sigo siendo el rey
