Candy Gill (Benner)
November 18, 1961 - November 12, 2022

Candace Evonne Gill was born November 18, 1961, in Bellefonte, PA, and went to the Lord’s
Home on November 12, 2022. She was the beloved wife of David Gill of Lewistown, MT, for 42
years and mother of Amy Myers of Billings, MT. She was a positive, loving, giving, and caring
person who will be greatly missed; we look forward to reuniting with her someday.
Candy enjoyed the outdoors, living in the log cabin home she built with David, and hiking,
camping, fishing, and traveling. Candy was a multi-talented person who enjoyed painting,
gardening, crafts, baking, and cooking. She began performing as a majorette in high school, and
continued this talent by spending many years volunteering at and performing with the Dance
Syndicate of Lewistown, MT, where she was dedicated to helping kids travel to various
competitions. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Candy is a 1979 graduate of Bellefonte High School and a 1986 nursing graduate of the PascoHernando Community College. Her passion was caring for others, starting her career at the
Central Montana Medical Center, then with Dr. LaFever. Her devotion to the comfort of the
elderly led her to nursing at Valle Vista Manor and CMMC Home Health and Hospice Services,
which allowed her to be cared for by her nurses and close friends at the end of her life.
Candy is survived by her parents Dale and Gail Benner, her siblings Greg and Kimberly, her inlaws Tommie and Wilma Gill, brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Lori Gill, and several nieces and
nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Candy’s friends, family, and medical team for all
the love and support, especially her dear friends and coworkers at CMMC Home Health and
Hospice Services for their love and care.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at the Fergus Center for
Performing Arts on Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm, with a reception at the Church of the
Nazarene to follow. Candy requested no black attire, and dancers are invited to wear costumes.
In lieu of flowers, cards, or gifts, the family requests donations be made to the Dance Syndicate in
her memory to support the artistic expression of Lewistown youth.
