Cyndi Craven
ponderer and poet who sings and plays a little guitar
Dear friends,
Shankara, my dearest heart and beloved companion, left the body on Friday afternoon. I am sorry for not letting you who know him, know what was happening. It was the conclusion of a three-week whirlwind of ERs, hospitals, and the rehab and nursing facilities But, his passing was peaceful and bright, and he was surrounded by "the near and dear" as he called us, singing and chanting him on his way.
There will be a service for Shankara tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26th at 2pm at AS Turner & Sons in Decatur, with a viewing at 1pm. Full details for the service are in the link below, including a livestream link, and his obituary.
Forgive me for not responding to messages or comments right now. Please know in advance I am so grateful for your love, prayers and good wishes for my dear heart Shankara. I am also suddenly sick with covid, and so will be attending the service from home on the livestream. But Shankara is with me wherever I am. I have much to do to assist those who will be at the service since I won't be there, so I will sign off for now. Much love to you all. May you be well and in bright spirits.

So, y'all, this happened.
My Caramel 6-string baritone guitalele, which has become my beloved go-to instrument, piqued the interest of 3-time Emmy award-winning editor/producer and underwater videographer, Jim Gilson, who happened to be video'ing the annual SongFest event at Unity North Church last Friday. Thankfully, we were all above water. I had a blast sharing the stage with three wonderful singer songwriters, Tom Wolf, Wil Hodge and Natalie Goodwin. Jim, who has a YouTube channel with a playlist called The Guitar Player, asked to interview me after the show about my little quarter scale nylon string guitar. He really is good at what he does. See for yourself. Maybe he'll win another Emmy? 🙂 Thanks a million, Jim. This is so cool. 🙂 Guitar players will especially be interested in watching the entire playlist. Some great stuff in there!

Wow, John O'Donohue.
If you allow yourself to be the person that you are, then everything will come into rhythm. If you live the life you love, you will receive shelter and blessings. Sometimes the great famine of blessing in and around us derives from the fact that we are not living the life we love, rather we are living the life that is expected of us. We have fallen out of rhythm with the secret signature and light of our own nature.
