Phases of summer: celebration, novelty, adventure, relaxation, done relaxation, desperation for structure, increased anxiety and manifestations of obsessive compulsive disorder due to lack of structure, attempt to stave off break down with adoption of new animal/radical hair cut/ rearrangement of furniture, spin out, melt down, exhaustion, depression, total apathy, back-to-school.

Cleaning out my Notes.
Summer is so slow and easy going, it’s really starting to p**s me off.
I’m back in the studio a bit but my primary concern right now is lakes and rivers.

So hot you can’t keep your clay wet.

From the archives. This photo is almost as old as the daily dinner fight between my children about how they each hate how the other one sits at the dinner table.

“I can see your foot! It’s gross!”
“Why don’t you sit on your butt like a normal person?!”

Every night swear to gawd.

My jokes are on summer vacation.

There are just a couple more garlic keeps and layer glazed lidded jars in the shop.

I am pretty caption-less currently. Perhaps I should try typing the words ABORTION RIGHTS so that Instagram can mark this post sensitive content.

One fire in the kiln, the rest of the pots sanded and on deck. Can I fit them all in the next load? Stay tuned.

And now…this side of the room. It’s just a lot of brown, wet pots while I get through my production cycle for the open studio coming up on the 25th. Pretty finished things coming up again soon.
⠀⠀
I rinsed the clay bags but did also throw the mugs as I am well suited to the full use of extended daylight.

Do you all wear a variety of styles and fabrics of underwear? I just considered recently that having all the same underwear and the need to have all the same kind of underwear might not be a universal thing. And now I realize it is not even a uniquely me thing, but an autism thing. It would ruin my day, as in I would be so distracted I could not string sentences together if I didn’t have my same underwear and it blows my mind that anyone could live with daily variety.

Another cycle complete. Reconfiguring my pottery distribution center back into a mud factory today for the next round of making. June 25th I will host the 3rd annual Solstice Open Studios-two backyard studios in conjoined yards with beautiful gardens, and a gathering of artists friends offering their work among a scattering of chickens, bees, and cats (one dog). *link in profile*.
