An ode to Gertrude Stein and Picasso’s friendship in Paris 🤍

Kevin is one of the generous humans I’ve ever been graced to meet. Generous in spirit, kind and quiet supporter of so many causes, organizations and a personal, professional and spiritual brother from another mother. He is a super hero in disguise.

I can’t even put into words what he means to me and so many people he’s touched with his kindness, wicked intelligence and love.

Just after thanksgiving Kevin had an accident, head surgery and a long stay in ICU.

Prayer warriors please 🙏 pray for a speedy and full recovery. And if you can help with medical costs or share this message I would be so grateful. Love you Kevin! You have a village of support reverberating back at ya ✨

Self portrait … I’ve been practicing the art of walking without a purpose some days, just sauntering the streets of Paris and paying attention to what I’m drawn to - what catches my eye. From architecture, little details on doors, finials on fences, the style and fashion of passersby, the windows capes … and am aware of gives me glimmers and makes my heart palpitate. I’ve serendipitously met so many amazing people who work or own the boutiques I’ve visited and met some amazing friends who inhabit these spaces. Stay curious… my life has already been forever changed personally, professionally and spiritually- and aesthetically obvi ❣️ Paris, jadore! A moveable feast you are! More wandering …

Bursting with joy ❣️ that’s really how my heart feels on the daily while sauntering the streets with fresh eyes of little boy Toan. Even if the worry or thoughts that don’t serve me creep in, I’ve learned to sit with them, they teach me, become my friend and they process and leave. Notice and pay attention to the dark and light. I don’t do New Year’s resolutions it’s intentions I do on the daily, which is manageable and keeps me grounded. Will share some writing wanted to be a grounding mediations to start your day and new year soon. For now take a deep breath and notice how you feel reset body mind and spirit.

There’s something about traveling while you’re young and have the energy. Another day, another cafe to sip coffee and write my design book. I will never tire of the endless chic cafes and the amazing architecture in the city of light ✨ The boutique is full of charm, has my fave candles and home goodies and a fab cafe and restaurant. 19th century building once home to a wallpaper and furniture fabrics business. thanks for the recommendation and you’d be proud of me for chipping away at my Glimmer ✨ book!

If you know me, you know I’m a sourcing ninja 🥷 I look high, low and uncover gems for me and the homes I elevate. So many gems to discover at the infamous Clignancourt French flea market - known as the largest flea market in the world, with 3000+ vendors and 180,000 visitors each weekend according to Timeout magazine. So many stalls, so little time. It’s like the of Marches 😂 See what I see through my vie en rose ~> 👑

How you like them 🍏? New lamp and source of non buzzing overhead light. Toan Design Tip: lighting is everything. Ditch the overhead lights and opt for layers of light via lamps and sconces 💡 the more quirky the better!
