As we head back to life post lockdown;

Does it feel like you’ve outgrown it all?
Maybe you were struggling with these things before. Yet now it feels 10x worse, mixed with the guilt and shame of feeling that way, because everyone else seems so excited,
so why don’t you?
Did having the time out to think, space to breathe, make you realise you want more from life?
A life more true to who you really are inside
Do you feel stuck?
Not knowing what to do about it all
Do you question...
What’s wrong with me?
Why can’t I have what I want?
Why can’t it be easy?

Let’s be honest committing to and maintaining any new habit is challenging.
Whether it’s learning a new skill, eating healthier or starting a new exercise regime.
But there are ways to make it easier.
Like:

✨Reward and treat yourself as you hit milestones, plan them in advance so you have something to look forward to.
✨Working with a coach to help you work on your blocks.
✨Having a clear goal and reason why you’re doing it
✨Tracking your progress with a visual representation of how well you’re doing
✨making it achievable in bite sized chunks, when we complete tasks we actually get a dopamine hit, giving us a happy and satisfied feeling. So the more you tick off the better you feel
What other tips would you add to this list?
Well here we are back in a full UK lockdown again.
It’s been a hard few months hasn’t it.
What I’m really looking forward to once this virus is under control, is experiences like this one.
Being surrounded by over 90,000 people sharing in magic moments like this
throwback to the amazing concert in 2016.
Watching it this morning makes me feel so connected to the world.
It’s a great reminder that even though It may feel like we’re on our own, we never are.
We are still surrounded by billions of people even if we can’t see each other right now.
We are all still here.
Standing together, swaying to the music.
I took for granted a lot of things in life pre covid. It’s been a great lesson.
But for now I’m remembering the feeling of this amazing concert and sending those happy vibes out to you ❤️✨
Ps please do another world tour 🙌🏻💃🏼
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 24⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Congratulations you’ve reached the last day of the challenge. Its time to celebrate!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your final activity is to buy yourself a yuletide gift to celebrate and mark your dedication to these past 24 days. It is Christmas eve after all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also encourage you to spend some time reflecting and perhaps writing into a journal your thoughts about the past 24 days of challenges.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reflection points to consider are:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What did I do really well.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What did I learn about myself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What did I enjoy the most.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What will I continue to do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Alternate Advent Challenge Day 23⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of movement⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s challenge is to dance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not just any dance but free, wild and completely unrestrained dance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Blast out your favourite music, and get moving. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let every part of your body move however it feels it needs to not how you think you need to. Let your body guide you by what feels good.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This one is guaranteed to lift your mood as well as your heart rate! #2020
Today give yourself the gift of a vision
Do you allow yourself to dream of all that you want for your life?
Dreaming about all the things you’d like to do, the places you’d like to go, the people you’d like to meet?
Today's exercise is to create a vision of your dream life. By creating a vision board.
If you’re new to the concept it’s where you bring together images, words and ideas that inspire your dream life.
You can create it on card sticking magazine cut outs of relevant pictures. You can draw it, you can also create it on line with an app like Pintrest
Let your inner creative out and start visioning those dreams and bring them out of your head and into a visual plan.
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 20⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of self care⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a tough challenge but someone’s got to do it. Today is pamper day!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Give yourself a day of preening, coddling and beautifying.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make yourself feel like a million dollars.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Indulge and languish in a luxurious bath with a glass of bubbles to hand⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Paint your nails, put on a face mask. Do all the little treats that make you feel amazing because you deserve it. #2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 19⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of time in nature⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nature has the power to heal even the lowest of moods.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s activity is to go for lovely long walk in nature.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Choose a place where you can completely immerse yourself in your surroundings.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where’s your favourite place to feel grounded? Is it by a lake, the mountains, the forest or the beach.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stay mindful as you walk and really observe your surroundings. What are all the birds, plants, animals and sights you can see.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take some time to sit and really take in the environment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Alternate Advent Challenge Day 18⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of a night off⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Give yourself the evening off from what you’d usually do. Instead fill it with fun.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Treat yourself to a movie night and carpet picnic with all your favourites.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Create an amazing den of comfort, with blankets, cushions, candles and put on your cosiest PJ’s and fluffiest socks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Choose your all time favourite film that always leaves you feeling good and uplifted.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Create a carpet picnic. Lay out all your favourite picky foods. Don’t forget the drinks too. Crack open the bubbly this is your night after all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Treat yourself to your favourite chocolates and turn off the phone. Enjoy every moment of your well deserved night off.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Alternate Advent Challenge Day 17⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of positivity⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you listened to how you speak to yourself you might be shocked at how critical it was.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That constant critiquing has a lasting negative impact on self esteem.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today focus on being more positive with your inner words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The challenge is to create an affirmation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Saying positive affirmations help change our thoughts.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To create your own affirmation, think of something that you are particularly critical of about yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reframe that thought and create a positive sentence to challenge the negativity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For example, say you are frustrated with how shy you are around strangers. Your affirmation could be. “I am courageous and open to meeting new people”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Repeat your affirmation out loud whilst looking into the mirror.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Say it when you feel those negative gremlins surface.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Try to do this as many times as you can during today, and finally last thing at night. #2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 16⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of kindness⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do something kind for a stranger today with no other motive than to be kind.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some examples of things you could do are:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Paying for the coffee of the person in the queue behind you at the cafe.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Leaving a little wrapped gift on someone’s door step.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Leaving sticky notes of kind and motivating words in random places.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Letting someone else go ahead of you in the queue.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The possibilities are endless.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 15⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of peace⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today we are practicing peace using mindfulness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mindfulness is simply the art of being consciously present in the moment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re so used to doing a zillion things at once we never give ourselves the chance to fully experience what we’re doing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve trained our brains to be so busy that we find it impossible to be still.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Long term mindfulness has so many benefits for our overall well being, our relationships, and of course our stress levels.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s activity is to apply mindfulness to eating.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every meal you eat today consciously be present.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Which means, you:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Switch off the phone, the radio or the TV.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Move away from your desk and stop working.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Close the book, magazine or newspaper.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As you eat, tune into all of your senses, imagining that it’s the first time you are experiencing the taste and texture of this food.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Savor every delicious mouthful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 14⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of vulnerability⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How often do you tell the people that matter to you how much you love and appreciate them?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I mean tell them exactly what it is that you love about them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today your exercise is to do exactly that!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can say it, write a letter or send a message expressing how you really feel, for no other reason but to share your truth vulnerably.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let go of the need to hear a certain reply and share your feelings honestly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 13⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of exploration⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Covid has made it impossible to travel the way we want to this year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re anything like me I’m sure you’re itching to get away on holiday to explore new places again.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But just because we can’t travel far doesn’t mean we can’t still be a tourist.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s activity is to explore somewhere you’ve never been before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Find a location within an hour of where you live.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everywhere can be a holiday adventure if you let it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 12⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of play⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you take life too seriously at times? I know I can.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we do it saps the fun out of our days and makes everything feel like a chore.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When was the last time you let your hair down and let yourself play?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Playfulness is fun, its infectious and it feels good.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We learnt through play as children so why let it stop as an adult.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s exercise is to bring playfulness back into your life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How did you love to play as a kid?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What made your belly hurt laughing?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pick a playful act (or a few that you used to love) and do it today.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Swing on the swings. Play kiss chase with your partner round the local park, climb a tree. Give yourself permission to let your inner child come out to play. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 11⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of magic moments⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where is the magic in your life?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Perhaps you’ve forgotten what it feels like, 2020 has been tough.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s activity is to remind yourself of all the magic moments you’ve had in your life. Staying open to those that are yet to come.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reflect back on your life asking yourself:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What have been my magic moments?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What have been my magic moments of 2020?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did these magic moments happen because I controlled every detail of it, or were these chance meetings, perfect timings and unplanned opportunities? think about how they happened.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take into consideration your answers, what does this tell you about your life?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How can you apply the realisation to your day for more magic to unfold?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 10⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of reconnection⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This year has been so so tough on our social lives and connections with others.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s exercise is all about reconnecting.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make a list of 5 people that you have lost touch with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It goes without saying to choose people that you would like to reconnect with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to send them war and peace in a huge letter (unless you want to) keep this simple and straight forward with a quick “hi I’ve been thinking about you” type message.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 9⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of self praise⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When was the last time you gave yourself praise just for being you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are often our own worst critics. Being so hard on ourselves, criticizing how we look, what we said, what we did or didn’t do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So today I invite you to praise yourself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Create a self praise list.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Find 10 things you really love about yourself, write it down somewhere you can keep.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Start each sentence with:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“What I really love about me is……..”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It could be anything from your sense of humour to your toenails!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Come back to your list and re read it throughout your day. Read it one last time just before you go to sleep tonight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 8⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of learning⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our brains have a massive capacity to learn yet we tend to stick to what we know, who we know and the opinions that resonate with us.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today we are going to challenge that, as I invite you to read or learn something new.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pick a random topic that you know nothing about, research and give yourself at least 30 minutes to learn all about it. #2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 7⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of a healthy plan⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Life is busy, there’s always something else to do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many times have you promised yourself you’ll eat well this week. Only to find that you’ve skipped lunch, and ordering take out for dinner again. Because you’ve not had time to think, never mind stick to your good intentions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can all be so caught up in the day to day that our fundamental health needs get forgotten about.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today I invite you to plan all your meals for the next 7 days.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you have your plan stick it somewhere where you can see it clearly ready to follow it to the letter.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Create your plan based on what you want and like to eat. Take into consideration what you have available, or have time to shop for.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It may seem like a big task, but I promise that investing time now will save time in the future. Plus you’ll be making it fool proof to stick to your good intentions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nothing boosts confidence faster than delivering on the promises you make to yourself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Never underestimate just how good it feels when you eat the right foods for you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our overall happiness relies on a balanced diet.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 6⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of peace.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The activity today is to switch off completely from social media, news and TV.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you really can’t manage the whole day without, agree a block of time that you can stick to.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then, take yourself somewhere and perhaps with someone special to enjoy the freedom and peace that switching off gives you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 5⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of a confidence⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Confidence grows from challenging yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s challenge is to do something you’ve never done before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can keep it simple with things like talking to a stranger, going for a run or completing a puzzle.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or try a new class or workshop. Anything from public speaking to laughter yoga is available.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The choice is endless, but make sure that you choose something stretches you and gives you a flutter of nerves at the thought of it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t forget to take the time after the challenge to reflect on the experience and congratulate yourself on your achievement.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 4⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of compassion⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When was the last time that you looked at yourself properly in the mirror without a critical eye pointing out all of your perceived flaws?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Embrace the mirror today. We’re using it to develop self-compassion.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The legend Louise Hay pioneered mirror work as a tool in personal development. It’s incredibly powerful.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To do this exercise you will need time and space where you wont be disturbed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You will need a mirror where you can see your whole face easily (either full length or hand held are fine)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take deep breaths whilst looking deep into your eyes in the mirror. Don’t look away even when the urge rises. Stick with it for a good 2 – 5 minutes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Notice any thoughts and emotions as you do this.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To end the exercise repeat out loud to yourself in the mirror (still gazing into your eyes)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I love you … (say your name) …. I really really love you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Repeat this at least 10 times. #2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 3⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of a healthier body and mind⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today make a promise to your body and treat your insides with love by abstaining from the non healthy habits.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can choose one thing or go all in its up to you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The list includes:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*smoking⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*Alcohol⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*Caffeine⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*Highly processed foods ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*Refined sugary products and added sugar.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These products negatively impact overall health, energy, and the chemical balance of the brain which ultimately affect mood.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This may sound incredibly daunting, but it is only for 24 hours.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can do this, and I’m right here doing it along side with you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#2020
Alternate Advent Challenge Day 2⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of non-attachment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ancient Buddhist traditions teach that letting go of attachment and desires is the path to happiness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Choose an object to gift to another, whether it’s to charity, a friend or a colleague.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some examples could be: clothing, money, jewellery. Or even food or drink you were looking forward to enjoying yourself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are you willing to let go of?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What have you become attached to? #2020
Alternate Advent challenge day 1⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today give yourself the gift of hydration⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our bodies are made up of 60% water, so it’s important we keep that topped up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At this busy time of year it can be easy to forget to drink as frequently as we need to.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This isn’t just another annoying health rant I promise you. Drinking more water makes a huge difference to the way that you feel, think and look.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s why today I want you to get a quick win and start off this advent feeling great.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let's water our brains and our bodies by drinking a minimum of 2litres of water throughout today.

I can’t wait to share this with you 💚
The sunsets and sunrises have been breathtaking this month.
Have you been enjoying them too?
This year it’s so easy to get caught up in the doom, gloom and frustration of what’s not working.
Collectively we’re constantly reminded of bad news, fear and contrasting passionate opinions of others.
I always find the dawn and dusk such a grounding and humbling time. In fact I made a vow to myself several years ago to always see the sunrise, sunset and stars everyday because it helps me stay connected to something bigger than my worries, it always uplifts me when I manage to see them.
I think it’s a good reminder to keep our heads up in these difficult times.
What do you think?
How are you really doing?
This year is tough
It’s ok that you’ve struggled I know I have
But wellness comes from being honest with our feelings
One of the great things that’s come out of this year is the openness of sharing our mental well-being challenges.
I see a lot of open posts on social media of people sharing their pains which is great that they feel comfortable to do this.
Years ago when I was struggling with anxiety and chronic stress, I was too ashamed to tell anyone, I was embarrassed and felt like a failure.
I know now that this was feeding into making it worse.
But today the stigma is lifting and that’s a great thing for all of us.
So my message today is don’t shy away from those honest conversations, they help you and help others too
