The Mississippi Children’s Museum is partnering up with the Mississippi Book Festival for a Storytelling Festival from 10-3 tomorrow January 13th!

There will be guest readers throughout the entire day who will be sharing the magical experience of storytelling with everyone!

During this time of year, we love being able to share with our readers and followers about all of the amazing events that are going that truly capture the holiday spirit.

Today, we wanted to share with everyone about the 6th Annual Festival of Trees hosted by The Westin Jackson!

Each year, The Westin chooses a local charity as a way to give back directly to the community during the holidays. This year’s charity that has been selected is The Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi!

Beginning on November 30th, local businesses will gather at The Westin Jackson for a day of decorating their own individual trees however they may like. The day will end with a tree lighting ceremony, which will also kick off their holiday events for the upcoming month. Voting for “Best Of” will remain open all month long where visitors can come to The Westin Jackson and see all of the beautiful trees that line up the lobby to cast their votes.

Today’s blog post also talks about all of the other magical activities that The Westin Jackson will be hosting from November 30th until December 30th. All of the events benefit local charities right here in Central Mississippi and can be read more about on www.jacksonfestivaloftrees.com.

With Thanksgiving being less than two weeks away, it is important to be reminded of what we are thankful and to give back to our communities. Today’s blog is all about a new tradition that we are excited to share!

Kendall Poole Ellis is teaming up with HisHeart Ministries by creating a new community tradition. Thankful Thursday Food Drive will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday November 18th at Reunion Beach!

It is asked to bring canned food or non-perishables as the main purpose of the night is to help provide families in the Jackson area Thanksgiving dinner. There will also be a showing of Free Birds along with several food trucks!

This is a family-friendly event that is a perfect way to kick off the holiday season! The goal is to collect over 350 cans so make sure to come out to Reunion Beach next Thursday night with all the canned goods for a Thanksgiving dinner! This is such an inspiring event and we cannot wait✨
