Work in progress kitchen remodel. The before pic I nabbed from staging photos.

The goal was to modernize the kitchen while staying true to its Mediterranean bones. I wanted to add energy to the kitchen which felt dated and didn’t reflect the client’s personality.

This I did with new countertops, new backsplash with a bold pattern, new light fixtures & cabinet hardware (coming). But the detail Im thrilled about is the decorative treatment on the ceiling beams, beautifully executed by

Beyond excited with how this custom rug turned out! Kyle Bunting is one of the luxury brands I discovered as a baby designer in Austin, TX and it was love at first sight with these beautiful works of art created from hide.

Spot the difference🧐↔️

As part of the project remodel, I helped select finishes to spruce up the exterior of the home while staying true to the character of the home.
* A brighter, warmer, shade of green that is welcoming even on a foggy SF day.
* Trim color that is monochromatic to streamline the facade and modernize it just a touch. Usually I’m all about the contrast but I felt the existing white trim called too much attention and fragmented the house.
* Warm shade of stone for the front stairs
The architect’s vision of orienting the stairs towards the street feels so much more welcoming. All that is needed now is some plant life in the garden beds for curb appeal.

I just need 1 more pillow fabric but it has to be perfect. The parts of my job that take the least amount of time but are the most fun!

The sleek lines & curves of this chair, upholstered in plush graphic velvet, bring a luxe contemporary touch to a traditional setting. The large scale side table is nothing short of art in form & materials.

The most successful and rewarding project turnout is when the space truly encapsulates the clients’ personality. This can only happen with true collaboration and a ton of trust in the designer/client relationship. Swipe to see the materials board for the powder room (and kitchen) remodel - I love how distinct yet cohesive the powder room feels in the palette.

A before & after that goes from a white box to layers of detailing from floor to ceiling. The built-in banquette really turned up the cozy in this kitchen. There is much more seating space & bench storage now than there could have been with a table and 4 chairs.

Replacing wall sconces is a quick way to modernize your space. Love the crisp lines of this fixture and how it immediately refreshed the vibe.

I wanted quiet sophistication to adorn this classic fireplace mantle & marble surround. The textured metal mirror and the abstract sculpture are striking but never take away from the architectural detail.

Subtle design decisions that you might not pick up on right away:
* Warmer wall paint color to let the mantle stand out
* Warmer flooring wood stain to pick up the texture in the flooring
* We added gas logs to transform the previously unused wood burning fireplace into a functional feature.

Incorporating vintage pieces with contemporary adds unexpected charm to a space. A vibrant, intricate traditional rug, a modern sofa with clean lines, a vintage sewing stand as a side table and abstract landscape art make for a timeless feel.

The clients were frustrated with the existing layout of their kitchen. Improving the flow through the space required a major overhaul.

We kept the design budget minimal to allow for a construction budget that could accommodate a change in plumbing locations, wall and window openings. A mostly white kitchen helped brighten up the space and introduce a sense of calm to relieve the clients of the chaotic experience they had with their previous kitchen.

Custom ottomans for a living room project in performance fabrics that will clean easily. Ottomans offer great flexibility in an irregular space where you need a coffee table, footstool or extra seating in a pinch.

I’m always excited to work with a client who appreciates mixing color and pattern as much as I do! Here the ‘warm’ colors of the ottomans stand out from the 'cool' rug.

For this kitchen remodel, it was important to the clients that the new design fit the needs of a modern family but also meld seamlessly into the historical home. We managed to completely transform the layout and finishes while still holding true to the character of the home.
