Congratulations to United Way of Rhode Island on the incredible success of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. VITA experienced a 7% increase over 2023 returns, with more than 11,000 people filing, resulting in $4 million dollars going back to Rhode Islanders.

The Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit are the most effective anti-poverty programs currently at work. An exciting way to close out the Tax Season and celebrate all the partners and volunteers that make this initiative a great success!

Packing food with purpose. Our Team of Branch Managers spent the day with Higher Ground International NGO packing bags of culturally relevant food for their "Sweetie Care" African Elders Enrichment Program. This program not only provides educational opportunities, social integration and case management to support the unique needs of elder African immigrants and refugees, but also feeds hundreds of local families every month. Thank you to our partners at HGI for hosting us, and for all the work you do addressing food insecurity in our community.
