The BeerDock story
The Tale of Beer Dock In 1977 my Father went to New York as a 15-year-old, staying with some relatives. His "Uncle" Sherman loved his cold beer. One night he asked him if he wanted to go to "The Beerdock" with him, it sounded great, so along we went. Beerdock was his generic name for the off licence (or should I say warehouse) where you bought in bulk, simply laid out on pallets. It was not glamorous just a functional off licence for beer loving men.
The place and more importantly the name have stuck with him for 35 years, knowing one day that something could be opened similarly here in the UK. With an emerging Craft Beer Scene, the time and place were right in sunny Crewe. Beer Dock opened its doors on 10th June 2013 We've got over 1000 types of craft beer, cider, lager and real ales from around the world. Our shops are one of a kind, we host the home to breweries scattered across the U.K on our four walls for you to take home with you. You can also come and visit us in shop and have a drink with us, we know variety is the spice of life, so how will you know what to choose if you don't know what the beer is like. It's our aim to find you the best beers, so we offer a service in that you can buy the beers and drink it with us. We don't have any large TV's, no music, no thrills, just great craft beer and conversation to go with it. We're not really sure how to label our shop, what category we fall under, apart from unique and revolutionary.
From Bottlebar to Micropub, from Beer shop to bottle boutique, we just know we're supplying the finest Craft Beer that the UK, America, Germany, Belgium and lots of other countries have to offer, so why not come down and say hello and become part of the revolution.
Our mission is to be the home of craft beer, making fresh exciting craft beer available to everybody. We want to help change people’s attitudes on beer, get away from the bad images of beerdrinkers, and make it more accessable, promoting local artisan breweries, and help get their beer to market.
