Nice to be on the grass but also excited to train this winter on our new 3G Academy Leisure - Sawtry Village.

We wish all playing at Sawtry Colts Football Club summer tournament this weekend an enjoyable and successful event.

Well done to all those behind organising it too.

If you are at a loose end this weekend, pop down and see some up and coming young footballers. Grab an ice cream and a burger too! Just £3 to park which includes a program. Matches start at 10AM both days, gates open at 8AM, finals from 2PM.

The first team were away to Deeping Rangers Reserves in their Peterborough and District Football League premier division game.

A tight game which could have gone either way, unfortunately the balance tipped in favour of Deeping.

A scrappy game with only moments of quality, some missed opportunities in front of goal for Sawtry made it closer than it might have been, but a quality goal from H. Bream was enough to give Sawtry all 3 points.

Just the first team with a home game this past Saturday💛⚽️💙

First Team:

The first team were at home to Crowland Town in their Peterborough and District Football League premier division game.

Was always going to be a very tough game against a side only a point or 2 from the top of the prem.

Sawtry gave an excellent account of theirselves in an end to end battle.

A controversial decision from the referee saw home fans flabbergasted, a Crowland player fouled a Sawtry player which looked a clear goal scoring opportunity. The ball was at the players feet and with just the goal keeper to beat, he was brought down just outside the box. A yellow and a free kick saw the visitors get off very likely. This could have been a game changing moment.

🔥Match Results - 23/4/24 and 24/4/24🔥

First team lose away at Stanground, reserves game abandoned after 56 mins. 💛⚽️💙

Reserves: (Tuesday evening)

The reserves were at home Tuesday night for their Peterborough and District Football League fourth division game versus Peterborough City Reserves. Sawtry started brightly and took the lead, city equalised but once again Sawtry scored to take back the lead. Unfortunately at 56 minutes a City player sustained a knee injury in a 50:50 challenge. The player was moved off the pitch, but was then not able to move again to be 2m from the pitch, due to this the ref abandoned the game at 2-1 with 56 mins played.

First Team: (Wednesday evening)

The first team played away vs Stanground sports in their P&DFL prem game. Was always going to be a tough one, with player availability and the addition of at least 2 higher level players for Stanground that have finished their seasons elsewhere.

Despite Sawtry losing 6-1 in the end, the battling was commendable and Sawtry also had their fair share of good attacks but apart from one, all were fruitless.

Final score: 6-1
