Tech tip Thursday:

Its the holiday season folks, and we’ve got a tech tip for those of you flying around to gather with your families this year!

➡️Never leave your phone on the airplane seat during takeoff or landing. We’ve seen a phone or two really take off. And when they land they look a little different 😬.

PSA: Be careful who you ask to "Sync" your phone. We have been seeing a lot of phones come in with water damage from well-meaning friends and family who took the phrase too literally and threw them in the puget sound. Good luck out there...

Did you forget to charge your phone last night and need to charge your phone quickly?

DID-YOU-KNOW?! Charging your phone with the power off or in airplane mode eliminates all on going functions that are using energy. This can result in charge times that are about 4-5% faster. Not much, but still helpful in a pinch!

Since the winter weather seems to be sticking around here’s a tech tip:

Make sure you don’t leave electronics in the car overnight, this can quickly deplete the battery and may sometimes lead to permenant battery damage! If temperatures get really out of control they can even cause the LCD screen to freeze and crack.

But if you forget don’t worry, we can fix that too ⛄️.

You may not know this about us, but we’ve been building a collection of tech based dad jokes for years.. for instance:

You shouldn’t be worried about your smartphone gathering data on you, you should worry about your vacuum cleaner. It’s been gathering dirt on you for years!

For you parents out there, did you know you can child lock yoru phone temporarily to stop kids from exiting an app or accessing certain content while they use your phone?

Sadly these apps won't stop your kids from eating, throwing, or dunking your phone in the toilet. But hey you can't win 'em all!

Did you know! One of the best ways to extend your smartphone's life is to avoid charging it over night. This is because when the phone keeps charging after its at 100% it begins to degrade the battery. Some phones have pushed software updates that manage this for you, but not all do. The other best practice is to avoid throwing your phone when youre mad, but we get it. Were human too :).
