Your Friendly Neighbourhood (YFN) Festival is a brand new 1 day-free-community-event launching on Saturday the 27th of August 2016, at Clissold Park, in the heart of Hackney. The main purpose of the Festival is to bring together the local community to celebrate the creativity of the area: Hackney local community is as vibrant as diverse and we want to highlight those two sides delivering a free ev
ent with the involvement of local artists, musicians, traders, craftsmen, performers, local businesses and charities, joining forces for a day of fun and relax in the park. The Festival will be run entirely by volunteers and will offer a great opportunity for local people to gather together and to be more involved in the life of their own community. The event will differentiate from most of the festival happening in the area for its community drive, for its main values of community, diversity, inclusiveness, creativity, fun and, mostly, the free entrance status. This means we actively seek to involve the local community in developing the programme, or participating as performers, workshop participants, as volunteers to ensure the festival runs smoothly, or simply as visitors. The 1st edition of the Festival will take place on Saturday the 27th of August 2016 and it will going on from 12pm to 6pm, there will be one stage where some of the most vibrant live acts from all around Hackney/Stokey and generally from London will be playing; all the event area will host food&drinks stalls and local business. It will be an Environment Friendly Festival with recycling points and workshops regarding the recycling process and its importance.
