Our Truth, is a forming Non Profit group committed in raising awareness and lending support to survivors of sexual violence. is sexually assaulted. Nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults (including assaults on adults) occur to children ages 17 and under (Synder, 2000). Sexual violence does not discriminate! No matter your race, color, religion, social or socioeconomic background anyone can be
affected. It can annihilate an individuals spirit and cause damage to their soul. My name Lori and I am the Founder of Our Truth and a advocate for sexual violence survivors. I am also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I created Our Truth: sisters in survival in recognition of the many struggles my sister and I were forced to face because of the abuse as children. As so many, survivors the lack of support, protection,and awareness can be extremely disheartening. However, it is crucial to ones journey to healing. Thankfully, my sister and I received the support and awareness we desperately desired. Our story is not uncommon yet, millions of victims brave their pathway with the lack of of understanding, guilt and re-victimization from society. As a need a communities can change these stigmatizing views. Our Truth, invites you to join us in the fight against sexual violence through raising the awareness and lending your support to all survivors we change the misconceptions of sexual violence.
