Open to the entire Jewish Community - a chance to sample Kosher for Passover wines. Great idea for a program. Hope to see everyone there.

Congregation Shaarey Tefilla is starting a new USY chapter. This is an opportunity for teens of Indianapolis to join together. While it is hosted by CST the chapter is open to all Jewish teens regardless of affiliation.

I wanted to send you an update on our first Kosher For Passover Shopping trip to Chicago. Thanks in large part to the feedback we have been receiving we have made a few updates to our plans that we believe will provide a better experience for all who attend.

We are loading the bus and departing from the CST parking lot (3085 West 116th Street, Carmel, IN 46032) at 7:30 a.m.

We improved our selection of stores to the Jewel Osco known in Chicago as the “Kosher Jewel.” It’s in Highland Park and comes recommended by one of the Orthodox synagogues in the area.

We also updated where we will be getting lunch from. Box lunches will be ordered from two locations. Mizrahi Israel Mediterranean has CRC accreditation and should be acceptable for any Orthodox standards. Sharvitz Market BBQ is supervised as well. We will order the meals in the morning and they will be on the bus by time everyone is done shopping. We will eat on the bus on the way back to Indianapolis, shortening the length of the trip by a couple of hours.

The bus has several comfort accommodations including video monitors, USB ports, and tray tables. There is a restroom on the bus. We hope to make the trip up and back entertaining while understanding some may want to rest during the trip.

This is the first time we have done something like this and we feel it will be extra special with members from the entire Jewish community joining us. We look forward to having a everyone join us and we are doing our best to accommodate any and all levels of observance.

We do need to get a firm count. Please remind your members and friends to make their reservations as soon as possible. An updated flyer for distribution is attached.

Congregation Shaarey Tefilla is having a fun "Fiddler on the Roof" Sing Along that is open to the entire community. Make plans to join them on January 20th.

This looks like it could a really fun event and the folks at Congregation Shaarey Tefilla have said it's open to the entire community. So, get your singing voices in tune and joint the community on January 20th.

Congratulations to Tricia Berg, School librarian, Middle School Humanities teacher and exemplary team player, selected as one of five winners of the national FACTS Teacher Innovation Award for her leadership on the Design Thinking Holocaust Museum. Both Tricia and the school will receive monetary awards($5000 to her and $1000 to the school) to be presented at our school in February and she is invited to present the museum project at the FACTS 'Elevate' conference this July in Atlanta.


In her essay, Tricia wrote:” As a librarian and teacher who is not Jewish working in a Jewish school, I have a unique perspective on the imperative nature of this type of education amid our current global crisis. I have seen first- hand the broader audience that we have been able to reach and affect with the work the students have done. In the paradigm shift of having the students take the responsibility for educating others, we bred true innovation.”
