History was brought to life for these schoolchildren when archaeologists showed them Roman artefacts discovered at our Lime Gardens development, before construction work began.

Pupils at Sutton Bonington Primary School were able to see Roman pottery and coins discovered during an excavation by York Archaeology , who we commissioned to conduct an archaeological evaluation of the site.

The school’s headteacher, Paul Allen, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to learn more about our village’s incredible history. They really enjoyed finding out about the items which were discovered during the excavation.”

Who’s ready for an adventure?

Coming up! We’re excited to confirm news of a special event about Roman artefacts discovered during an excavation in Sutton Bonington, Nottinghamshire. Roman pottery and coins were among the items found at the site of our Lime Gardens development, before construction work began. Experts from York Archaeology will be talking about it at a free public event in Sutton Bonington Village Hall on Thursday 6 June at 7.30pm. We’d love to see you there.

We were delighted to welcome a group of green-fingered schoolchildren to our Honeysuckle Rise development in Burton on the Wolds to plant some colourful flowers for National Children’s Gardening Week.

The headteacher at Burton on the Wolds Primary School, Claire Wilson, said: “The pupils really enjoyed putting their green fingers to good use. They learned a lot during their visit and it was wonderful to see them working as a team to help brighten-up the local environment.”

Last year, the youngsters helped to install several hedgehog nests at the development and signed their names on the wooden lids. It was great to invite them back again!

A retired couple who enjoy metal detecting say they’ve “struck gold” after discovering their perfect home. Lesley and David Williamson decided to downsize and moved 250 miles to be closer to their son and his family in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

“It was a big decision to leave our previous home in Pembrokeshire after 20 years, but thanks to William Davis Homes we’ve found a real treasure here at Wellington Place,” said Lesley.

The couple have also discovered that moving into a brand new home has led to reduced household bills. The design and insulation of their three-bedroom home has meant they’re now paying less than a third of the energy costs of their previous property.

Over the years, the couple have found many interesting items while metal detecting. “But this house must be one of our best finds,” added Lesley. “We love the lay-out and have made new friends here.”
