Chestnut Farm Alpacas
Here at Chestnut Farm we are breeding quality Alpacas using some of the worlds finest genetics.
Chestnut Farm Alpacas was started in the autumn of 2007, we had our first four females delivered, two of which had cria at foot and the other two were pregnant and due to birth in the spring, it was such an exciting day. From then on it has been a journey of highs and lows, but not one of regret, we have built our herd up to include some excellent genetics and we strive to improve on this year aft
These two lovely boys were born today.
I'm loving the colours we are getting from our white boy Chestnut Farm Defiant.

Well what a fantastic weekend !!
We took a small show team of four to the Yorkshire Alpaca Group show and we are over the moon with the results.
All four of our team came away with a rosette but the highlight of our weekend was our intermediate white male Chestnut farm Defiant being awarded 1st in his class, it was a tough line up and he then went on to win Champion white male.
Thank you to everyone for a fantastically organised show and thank you to Barbara Hetherington Beck Brow Alpacas for judging and for all the detailed oral reasoning.
We are going to be at Easton Autumn country market again this year, come along and say hello to us and the Alpacas π
Our Story
Chestnut Farm Alpacas was started in the autumn of 2007, we had our first four females delivered, two of which had cria at foot and the other two were pregnant and due to birth in the spring, it was such an exciting day.
From then on it has been a journey of highs and lows, but not one of regret, we have built our herd up and we now have a core herd of breeding females totaling 12 at the moment, we also have five lovely yearling girls who will enter our breeding program in 2019
In previous years we have attended a number of shows, starting with a small show team of three, it was a very successful year with my two younger members of the show team, Chestnut Farm Dizzy Lizzy and Chestnut Farm Razzle Dazzle coming away with numerous placings, to top that off my Adult White Male Chestnut Farm Lord of Sherwood was awarded Supreme Champion twice.
We have also attended a number of shows with Chestnut Farm Lord of Sherwood's offspring and were thrilled when all of them received placings, with Chestnut Farm Cassie being placed 1st twice and also being awarded Champion White Female twice.
All of us here at Chestnut Farm are delighted with this and are looking forward to the future and the birth of more beautiful cria.
2017 saw the birth of 12 cria, 6 boys and 6 girls so we have a few to choose from for our 2018 show team.
We have also had a number of our alpacas go to new homes this year.
2018 has seen the arrival of a new young stud male for us in the shape of Beck Brow Ammunition, we are very excited to have his genetics in our herd and are really looking forward to the birthing season in 2019.
2018 birthing season has now come to an end and we have had 5 gorgeous female cria born this year.
We attended the YAG halter show in October 2018 and our lovely young male Chestnut Farm Brodie was awarded 1st Intermediate White Male and then Reserve Champion, we were thrilled with this result, he is another of stunning offspring from Lord of Sherwood, our other Lord of Sherwood progeny that we took to the show, Chestnut Farm Fern was awarded 2nd Intermediate White Female and then Reserve Champion so a great result for the Chestnut Farm Herd.
We are now through 2019 and have seen the arrival of eight lovely cria, six of them being sired by our new young stud male Beck Brow Ammunition, they are all gorgeous and he really seems to have put his stamp on them as some of them are like peas in a pod, canβt wait to see what the 2020 show season brings, so looking forward to attending a few shows with our most recent little beauties.
