Meet Francisco, Ruben, and Adrian—three best friends who connected through The Salvation Army.
Their story began 15 years ago when Francisco and Ruben first met at a Salvation Army camp. Later, Francisco connected with Adrian at The Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield.
Now, all three work together in the media department at The Salvation Army Southern California Division Headquarters.
Their friendship is a great example of how The Salvation Army brings people together and creates real connections! 🤝

When I came to The Salvation Army, I saw hope." - Estela 🌟
Estela and her family were facing tough times when her husband fell seriously ill just as they were expecting their fourth child. With stable jobs no longer an option, they turned to The Salvation Army - Pasadena, CA for support. Estela recalls feeling shy at first, unsure of what to expect, but she was greeted with kindness and warmth.
The Salvation Army Pasadena Corps provided Estela's family with food, a stroller, a car seat, and her newborn's first blanket.
At The Salvation Army, our community is family. Together, we bring hope and support when it's needed most. Estela's story reminds us that God works through us to uplift those in need. 🙏

✨ Meet Mistie, our compassionate Social Services Coordinator at Salarmy Santa Barbara Corps. She oversees our walk-through clothing closet, providing essential clothing items free of charge to community members. For many, these clothes are more than just everyday wear—they’re crucial for interviews and important events.
“It’s my favorite part of my job, knowing that we are able to make a difference by providing basic necessities such as clothing. Our clients are always grateful and often surprised to learn the items are free. Their faces light up when they find something they need, and many return the favor by donating clothing later.” ❤️
The clothing closet supports 75-100 people monthly. Thank you, Mistie, for your unwavering commitment to serving others every day! 👏

Donut Day 2024 was a success here in SoCal! 🍩
Donut Day began in 1938 as a way to honor The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies, who traveled to the front lines during World War I to boost morale by cooking donuts, providing supplies, and praying with soldiers fighting in the trenches.
Today, nearly a century later, The Salvation Army continues to serve on the front lines of the fight against poverty through a wide range of social services.
Check out the fun donut events that happened all over SoCal!

The Salvation Army California South
For more than 130 years, The Salvation Army has been feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and changing the lives of countless residents of Los Angeles. The Salvation Army's presence in Southern California dates back to 1887, when an open air street meeting was held on the corner of Temple and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. To this day, a plaque remains in the sidewalk to commemorate the event.
Prior to this meeting, a church, or Corps as it is known in The Salvation Army, had been established in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles Street. In 1892, the Corps moved to First Street where The Salvation Army occupied almost the entire block with a hotel for transient men and a men's industrial complex, the forerunner of today's Adult Rehabilitation Centers. In 1899, The Salvation Army opened a rescue home for young, expectant mothers in Los Angeles known as Booth Memorial Center.
The Army's work expanded quickly in Los Angeles with the opening of other Corps and facilities for social welfare programs. Today, The Salvation Army Southern California serves hundreds of people with social services ranging from addiction rehabilitation to emergency shelter, disaster relief, day care, community centers, job training programs and food pantries.
