I wish this was real! When I popped by in North Van, I was confused. Then I realized there is a film company shooting along Lonsdale.

If not, I would have brought Ripley to enjoy breakfast too. (See next pic for the lovely sphynx that is home with her dad)!

We are lucky to be able to walk the Spirit Trail to the grocery store. We try to tie our walks with chores.
Very grateful to have my umbrella with me on a day like today!

What are you reading? Ripley likes to be read to. And sometimes likes to sleep on books.

I love love date days!

I am aiming to tighten up our happy hour habit that has been growing!

We've gone for walks, picnics in the park, and board game sessions in the park. At home we have movie nights and home-cooked meals.

We are aiming to go roller skating and as the weather gets warmer swimming outside.

What are some of your favourite date day activities that don't cost a lot?

I love getting outside! First thing in the morning, the light of the day makes me feel hopeful and happy. Some mornings it's a walk. Other mornings, I grab my notebook and a pen and write! How do you set your days up?

Every day is a celebration! K and I celebrated Auntie Rowena turning 85!

Happy 85th birthday!

Did you know the average person doesn't wear 80% of the clothing they own? Clothing swaps are a great way to encourage us to organize our closets, regift clothing we do not wear, get to know your neighbours, and "shop" without concuring credit card debt!

I have a huge community of friends who love to clothing swap in Vancouver. Throughout the years, we've shared laughter, joy, and fun as we've exchanged clothes. I wish my new home was a bit bigger to host events in my living room, but it would be tough.

I am very grateful to have hosted a clothing swap for my North Van buy nothing group and one that I attended as a participant at this week.

I'm grateful to get to know my neighbours, meet new friends and clothing swap! I did clear space in my closet and got some "new to me" gems.

Do you like clothing swaps?
What are your favourite ways to connect and meet people? This is one of mine.

I love to clean out my closet quarterly! I love clothing swaps! It's a great way to "shop" without concuring credit card debt!

Did you know most people only wear about 20% of the clothing we own? Sometimes, organizing our closet before we go to a clothing swap is a fantastic way to revamp our wardrobe.

Sorting things into piles to keep, toss, or mend is a great place to start. Try things on to see what feels good.

I am looking at ways to repurpose clothing.
I love clothing swaps and getting to see clothing that didn't fit me well find homes with someone else gives me joy.

I am writing a little bit again. I just posted a piece about organizing the closet. I will be posting pieces on clothing swaps and repurposing clothing. What are some of your favourite ways to clean your closet, swap clothes or repurpose clothing.

Photo is of Ripley making a bed in the bag of new to me clothing I brought home from a recent swap!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
One of my mentors passed away from cancer.
Another dear friend is living with cancer.

Both approach life with creativity, celebration, and love. When life goes sideways, please breathe. There are opportunies to make our own brand of lemonade.

Feeling like I got a little but done! For those who are spring cleaning, keep your discards in your out box before donating, selling or swapping them. Sometimes if we revisit things a few weeks later, things fit better than we remember.

Each day is a gift! Exploring each moment with curiosity can bring growth and joy to our lives. As we move into spring, it's a chance to revisit how much movement we have in our sets.

After a cold, wet winter, it feels great to get outside and move! From choosing to park further away to add walks into our days to taking the stairs are simple ways to increase our movement. Exploring our beache, forests and mountains through hiking, biking and other fitness activities.

Looking at the movement that we are doing and seeing how is it working for us. Are we working on our balance, strength, and flexibility? Does it bring us joy? Or help manage our stress levels?

I am available for one on one wellness and fitness evaluations, lunch & learns, workshops and personal training. Please let me know how I can help.

Yoga is for everybody! Exploring breathwork and poses on the mat gives us opportunities for growing. Not every pose will feel good to our bodies. It is important to explore the sensations we feel in our body with curiosity.

If it feels sharp, shooting, or electric, we will want yo explore modifications. If it feels uncomfortable, it is an opportunity to explore that shape. The sensations and emotions we feel may change.

As we age, it is important to move and breathe. Yoga can help us build strength, flexibility, and balance. A flow that encourages us to engage our core, stretch, and find drishti points to focus on can help us stay balanced and supple.

Poses such as chair can keep our bodies strong. Outside of class, this makes it easier to sit and stand up. Functional movement allows us to keep moving for as long as we can.

Breathwork can reduce stress and help us lead our lives through the lens of mindfulness.

Balance becomes vital as we age.

Chairs are available for students who may not be able to get down to the mat.

I am excited to teach 55+ classes at on Tuesdays at 9am.

* I have taught yoga for seniors for active living and extended care. This class is great for beginners and for long time hatha yoga practitioners.

Dance is a way to express how we feel! By mixing movement, our emotions, and music, we can express how we feel. We work on our strength, flexibility, and balance, which allows our technique to evolve. As we flesh the steps with how we feel, magic can happen.

What makes you feel like dancing?

Don Miguel Ruiz:

The Four Agreements are words to live by:

 Be Impeccable With Your Word

Don't Take Anything Personally

Don't Make Assumptions

Always Do Your Best

When I am finding myself out of balance, I revisit the four agreements. Usually I am not being true to one of them.

Using each agreements a lens for each day can help us stay true. Journaling and meditation with each of these can help us stay consistent as we move forward in life.

What words do you live by? What lifts you up?
