🎉 Happy National Swing Day 🎉
This is a day to celebrate the incredible work that swings, performing understudies and standbys put it to make a show run seamlessly in the event that another artist is unable to perform. Into the Woods has two performing understudies and four standbys who have learned as many as FOUR roles and are ready to switch roles or take the stage at a moment's notice.
Our performing understudies are Rochelle Kives & Laura Olafson and our standbys are Matthew Fletcher, Katie German, Emily Meadows & Justin Stadnyk.
If you've never heard these terms you may be thinking what is the difference between a swing, understudy and a standby? 🤔
Swing: An artist who does not perform in the show day-to-day but is prepared to take over one or more ensemble roles if needed.
Performing Understudy: An artist who regularly performs their own role but has learned the role of an another artist to perform that track if needed.
Standby: An artist who does not perform in the show day-to-day but is prepared to take the stage in up to eight different tracks with the majority of these roles being principal roles.

Excited for the next step of this process. I will be watching from the house with big smiles and an open heart.
Time really flies when you're in the woods! Tonight is our first preview of Into the Woods 🌲
The forest may be deep, dark and a little confusing, but our intrepid cast will help you through the thickest thickets.
In fact, we've heard from a very reliable source that the way that's the quickest is to pick it apart with stick but avoid being pricked. But you didn't hear it from us!
