Having recently finished a course of internal bleaching with a fellow colleague, this patient was referred to me for the restoration with composite resin of his UR1.
Due to the extensive damage already present, we decided to opt for a minimal prep approach.
I would have loved to harmonise shape and proportions for both centrals but this wasn’t an option at this time.

Make sure your central incisors are the centre of the show! Make them dominant and beautiful and this will take the attention off the rest of the teeth. Add more texture, more lustre, more symmetry😎

Should we restore worn down, thinning, fractured, cracked edges with composite RESIN?
Won’t the restorative work be at risk of chipping again?
Will we be creating interferences/ conflict in our patient’s bite if we restore?
Will our restorations last?
These “anterior wear” cases are usually indicating the existence of anterior conflict in our patients’ bite.
Restoring these lesions is as important as is improving patient’s functional stability which will result in prevention of further damage on teeth/ restorative work and prolong the longevity of restorative work and tooth structure and most importantly, resolve the main cause behind this.
Prevention is key.
Patient will undergo treatment to improve her envelope of function and resolve the anterior conflict. 😉
