Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™
Meet our Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซ
You will find our SVNs in light blue tops and in photo order we have Charley, Clare, Charlie, Jess & Jess!
There are a few different ways to become an RVN but all SVNs must complete a minimum of 1800 hours in a veterinary placement. Here at Hollybank we currently have SVNs on their sandwich year from Harper Adams University and Reaseheath. Each SVN is appointed an RVN that has been trained to be a Clinical Coach, to support them through their placement and help them complete their Nursing Progress Log (NPL). All of our SVNs past and present work hard completing their training and some have even come back to us as fully qualified RVNs! ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€โš•๏ธ

Happy 15th Birthday Hollybank!

Hollybank Vets opened its doors on 2nd March 2009 - fifteen amazing years ago! In that time we have had the privilege to treat the pets of Cheshire (and beyond!) and get to know some wonderful people. We have known (and loved!) some animals through their entire lives; others we have been honoured to see at the start or sadly the end of their journey.

Thank you all for helping to make Hollybank Vets such a special place - and hereโ€™s to the next fifteen!

Richard & Helen and all the Hollybank Team xx

Each May we celebrate Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAM), which was started by the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). The purpose of VNAM is to spread the word to the veterinary profession and pet owners about the importance of the role of the veterinary nurse, and the provision of responsible pet care to the general public. This year the theme is โ€˜empowermentโ€™ to raise awareness of empowerment within the veterinary nursing profession, and the myriad of jobs nurses have within the veterinary team and wider veterinary profession.

Here at Hollybank we have 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and 5 Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) who work across both our Sandiway and Winnington practices. Nurses are very much involved in the team effort to provide the best possible care for your pets. A lot of the nurse's roles are behind the scenes, so stay tuned this month to hear from all our nurses about what their jobs involve, what they enjoy about it and how they feel empowered.
