The Puzzle - This is what I call a "transition specimen." It still retains some of the iron squiggles that made it. This is a shock made plasma mix of limestone and iron from the Howell, TN impact. It has been blasted 50 miles to south Franklin County, TN almost to the Alabama border. The Howell Impact contained a lot of iron arriving at high speed from space making a more explosive impact.

In the physics environment of a large earth impact hundreds of Giga Pascals (GPa) are present and plasma mineral balls are flying around in many directions close in to the impact center.

Construction site at Lake Logan, TN which is inside the Howell Crater. This is a shock mega clast. These are what used to be the limestone where the big meteor hit and turned them to blobs it throws out in all directions. The surface is a heat dimpling like you might have with baking a cake and the mix was not uniform enough. Also this impact occurred into a sea and the back rush of water can have quick cooling effects.
