Welcome! Shop handmade Macrame Decor & Patterns. All made by me with eco friendly products
I was asked many moons ago to make jewelry. I was never drawn to do so. I’ve done belts, crowns, garlands and such but the small stuff wasn’t my cup of tea.
Now I’m getting the bug. Trying out patterns to see if I like it. This isn’t it, but it was fun to make. The white necklace was attempted 4 years ago, the blue one is recent.

What’s on your rack?
This is my work in progress. It is a mix of 3 hangings that I created over the last couple years and never quite liked how they finished. The wonderful thing about cord, is if you buy quality and take care of it, it will look and behave brand new for decades.
I have a habit of creating something, not quite liking it, putting it up on Etsy and than putting it in storage. Usually, then one night at 3 am, I get inspired and take them apart and make them into something else or use parts to make a whole new piece. Sorry, if you were eyeing them on Etsy 🙂 but you have to admit, this is kinda pretty.
Sometimes we learn the most about our art, style and knots(any medium) by taking apart what we have made and using it in a completely new way. It’s asymmetric, which is hard for me to leave and not alter. It’s a growing lesson for me😝.
Now my dilemma is how to hang? I have picture hooks in the back, but I’m kinda feeling some kinda hanging loop, but not sure what that will be yet. I want one that if not desired, can be part of the hanging. This way it can be changed from hooks to loop easily.
I’ll stare at it for a few weeks and wait for inspiration.
I’m on a black and white kick. Isn’t she lovely
Haha saw this in a group…

Found this little blue, beaded beauty organizing after my last couple fairs. I know, I have so much inventory I forget what I have 😝🫢😳. She can hang just by the wood or I can add a string to hang it from.
I was recently asked what I do with all the scraps that I have after creating something.
Well, most gets reused in another project. Or sold to spinners who make art yarn.
But some are to small or not useable and then what?
I found the Take Back Bag a few months back. I’ve since filled 3. Some were clothes that can be reworn, another bag was old blankets and towels. And now this bag is for my cord scraps.
It’s simple and there is not much they don’t accept. I keep my bags to one type item so they don’t have to sort to much.

They have done all the work for where everything ends up.
I use recycled cord from textiles so the fact my scraps can be reused yet again is awesome!

Want to make something macrame yourself, but not a fan of Etsy?
I always say custom doesn’t have to be big. Customer wanted a diamond shape flower, with a large center for a wreath. This is my wreath, but I think it will work nice for theirs.
Don’t have a lot of sun?
No green thumb?
No worries. Plant hangers are not just for plants.
Create a romantic ambiance, by placing (safety first no burning candles) a battery operated candle into a votive candle holder and add some sparkle to your evening.
Not enough sun, but you want something in that corner? There is always a solution…
Adding something as simple as cheese cloth or garland can change your favorite macrame hanging for holidays, seasons and events.
Some exciting news! I am now offering pots with my hangers. And not just any pots. Lightweight recycled pots that can be again! Yep , .
I’ve been using these pots in my personal life for a few years now. They are perfect for .
I trialed them at a few shows and sold out each time! They really blend well into any decor. And look beautiful with my plant hangers! I’ll share pics when I have them.
I will be offering a select few (for now) in a few sizes from mini to the 9in, at in person events. I’m working out shipping logistics, so if you must have one with your plant hanger, message me and I’ll see what I can do.
So here they are Kanso Designs!
Made with recycled plastics, the finished product is combined with materials like natural stone, rice husk, bamboo, wheat husk, coffee bean husk and wood to completely change the nature of plastic into a green composite material. As each planter is the result of handcrafted finishes, each item contains its own personality and unique details.
Frost Proof -50C - 100C! For those outside planters. And those peeps that forget the pots outside.
I have a few shows coming up! And yes I am using their pics and verbiage with permission, you think I can take pics that nice 😊 lol.
progression: the process of developing or moving gradually towards a more advanced state.
The more you immerse in the art world, the more there is to aspire to.
A finished piece might not be your style or speak to you, but are there things about it you respect or can relate to? The process to make something usually intrigues me, it’s never quite as I thought.
I was gifted a long time ago some vintage polypropylene, macrame cord from a widow. Her husband loved to macrame and she wanted it to be made into something current and useful. I’ve used most of it, even tho it’s not a supply I use in my shop, I have no issues in using vintage supply.
This is all the cord I have left of that beautiful gift. 3 large outdoor plant hangers ❤️

Letting it speak for itself
Giving space to be creative
Having patience for inspiration for the next section
Inspiration: the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative; the drawing in of breath. Inspiration can waver, or come from the most insignificant item. It can come from a feeling or activity. Taking a walk in the woods, walking the dog. But most often when I think of inspiration or being inspired it means you are living life. It also means that you may be taking some self care and then bam, here comes inspiration when you let yourself relax and wander where the moments take you. For most creatives it has been a hard couple of years and most have struggled to keep afloat never mind enjoy what we are doing and come up with new fresh ideas. I made this hanger almost 2 years ago, it is a vintage pattern that I adapted. It never quite felt finished and something was off. So I put in in storage. And then I pulled it out and stared at it for weeks,”. Put it back, and tried again. I did this a few times. Today I saw this pattern in a tree of all things. Just staring at a tree, connecting to nature and there it was. Let’s see where it takes me!
