Trans Allyship WERK!

This will part 2 of GAPIMNY and TranscendAsian Pride NYC Collective’s two-workshop series, “More Than Gay” Sexual Healing series, held virtually next Sunday.
*ASL interpretation will be provided during the entirely of both workshops. *

This is to help share skills and knowledge to help build bridges between the trans community and the larger GAPIMNY base of cis-folks. When it comes to organizing with and/or romancing transgender and non-binary folks, there’s a lot for cis-folks to learn re: how to build authentic, mutually caring relationships. Quite often, cis-people can (unintentionally) stumble when it comes to deconstructing our gender-binary world into one that fully celebrates trans people.

This workshop is a space where we will be checking our privileges as cis-people, discussing best practices for working with and/or dating trans people, and pushing our learning edges about how to do better as cis-allies to the trans community.

This workshop is open to everyone; trans attendees should note that this online workshop will have cis-people who are in-progress regarding their trans ally-ship.

Israeli soldiers describe the near-total absence of firing regulations in the Gaza war, with troops shooting as they please, setting homes ablaze, and leaving corpses on the streets — all with their commanders’ permission.

June 8 National Mobilization: Surround the White House for Gaza Act Now to Stop War & End Racism

June 8 marks eight months of US-Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people, and marks the 54th anniversary of the occupation of Gaza.

A month ago, Biden said that the invasion of Rafah was a red line. But now, the invasion of Rafah has continued for weeks, has expanded to the entire Gaza Strip, Biden’s red line is nowhere to be seen. Instead of following through and stopping military aid to Israel, Biden has authorized billions more in weapons shipments to be used to kill and massacre Palestinians.

Biden can’t draw the line, but we can. On June 8, we will come together from across the country and surround the White House. Wearing red, and raising our demands high, we will show the world that we are the red line. We demand an immediate ceasefire, an immediate end to the siege on Gaza, the freedom of all Palestinian prisoners, and an end to the occupation of Palestine.

“Finish Them! America ❤️ Israel. Always, Nikki Haley.” This was the message scrawled by former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley during her visit to northern occupied Palestine this week. On bombs destined for Gaza and south Lebanon, Haley joins the ranks of US politicians who have scrawled personal messages on rockets destined to tear, limb from limb, the bodies of our children, our mothers and fathers, our people in Gaza.

There can be no higher level of complicity — whether from the Biden administration or from the likes of Nikki Haley and Mike Pence. From supplying the technical expertise to manufacturing the bombs, from bankrolling the Israeli military to cheering on the preparations for Israel’s slaughter, the United States continues to perform every task necessary to ensure the genocide continues — everything but pressing the button.

Don’t look away. The Israeli military horrifically burned Palestinians alive and beheaded a Palestinian child — on the weekend of Lag B’Omer, a holiday where Jews traditionally gather around bonfires. This is Zionism.

Five days ago, the Israeli military moved Palestinians in Rafah to a “humanitarian safe zone,” in Tal al-Sultan to escape the siege happening in other areas of Gaza. Last night the Israeli military bombed people sheltering in tents over 60 times with over 2,000 pound bombs in just 48 hours. This is happening two days after the ICJ’s order to immediately cease its military operations in Gaza.

Over 50 Palestinians have been murdered by the Israeli military with countless more injured. Many were stuck under the flames and in the tents destroyed by the Israeli military’s bombardment. The best treatment survivors of the Rafah siege can expect is at the last remaining field hospital that doesn’t have an ICU.

Yesterday, the Palestinian people sheltering in Gaza City, Jabalia, Al Nuseirat, Deir AlBalah were ruthlessly bombarded by the Israeli military. Meanwhile, today the Israeli army is bulldozing the Al-Faluja cemetery in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, desecrating the remains of the Palestinians brutally murdered by Israeli forces earlier this week.

The U.S. government has facilitated this genocide by continuously sending weapons and funding to the Israeli military. We hold the U.S. government, in addition to the Israeli government, responsible for the slaughter of over 36,000 Palestinians, for the siege and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, and for mass destruction of infrastructure and land.

We demand an end to all U.S. funding to the Israeli military now. People of conscience throughout the world are calling for an end to genocide.

Press conference from 6 months ago. How many of these children are still alive?

The hospital has been obliterated as we wonder how 5 months passed by and nothing has been done at all. We need a ceasefire now.
