Yesterday I was doing some clean up and organizing before moving my Riviera convertible to my lift bay, and I found these stacked on a shelf, so I decided to do a little decorating in my shop.

We have tons of memories from decades of racing and back to the mid 90's street rodding with Donna Jo's 1940 Hot Rod. We've met so many good friends along the way, and everytime I look at these I'll be thinking about you all.

Cold and snow suck, but there's something to be said about the peaceful quiet and beauty that the snow provides (after snowblowing that is).

I've lost too many good dogs over the decades, and thus I know there must be a heaven.

It seems like yesterday but it was 45 years ago, during the Blizzard of 1979 here in Chicagoland. We were digging out of an 8 foot snow drift, just to get out of our front door. No exaggeration! It took me days to dig out, after one of the biggest blizzards in Chicagoland history.

Yep, 45 years ago today, my son Danny was born. He was a fighter then and now, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

So a few weeks ago I started to do some maintenance on my trusty old 1979 IH Cub Cadet. Snow wasn't in the forecast yet, but I had to get it ready for a hard winter. The snowblower housing needed some welding, and a new scraper blade was fabricated. Plus the traditional greasing, adjustment and checking before getting into the snow season.

Then I decided to give it a little TLC, to keep the rust at bay. One thing lead to the other, and before I knew it, it was blown apart. Then, Mother Nature came calling, and it had to go back together, whether it was all done or not!

I can sand blast the outside of the blower housing next summer, maybe...and then switch it all over to a cutting deck, just in time to cut the grass!

This car has run consistent 8.50 Index quarter mile ETs, at well over 150 mph at big events, across the Midwest. Best ET 8.23 at 169 mph at Rt 66 Dragway in Joliet.

It's a real steel "Body by Fisher" '37 Chevy Business Coupe. The front end is glass. It's got a full tube chassis, with a certified roll cage.

The engine needs repair, but here's info, Dart Iron Eagle block (raised deck, raised BBC cam bore, spread pan rail), 427 CI SBC, with AFR 227 heads, Mooneyham 6:71 supercharger, your choice of dual 850 CFM methanol or 750 CFM gas QFT carbs, Mezier Star 500 pump, Crower stroker crank, Arias pistons with Dikes rings, Comp roller cam, Jessel shaft rocker system, Cloyes true roller timing chain, MSD digital 7 ignition.

A wrist pin shattered and it threw a rod. That piston is cockeyed in the cylinder. It needs the crank turned, a set of rods. I have extra pistons. It may be possible to clean up the cylinder bore, to use the same set of pistons, alternatively, it has never been bored, so that's an option over a possible sleeve. these blocks can be bored big time, making 454 cubic inches.

Rollerized TH400, Coan hardened input shaft, Pro tree Billet trans break, Midwest spragless 5,000 stall converter, Moser rear with bolt thru aluminum big bearing case, 40 spline axles, 4 wheel disc brakes, 33x16x15 slicks on 15" MT forged wheels

With the weather outside turning to winter so quickly, I thought I'd share some pics from the Chicagoland Chapter of the Buick Club outing at Marquardt Buick in Gurnee, Illinois, from early October. Our '83 Riviera convertible, is still in the finishing stages, so maybe next year.

It's with great sadness that I share another loss to our drag racing community. Loosing a great race engine builder is difficult. Loosing a great friend is tragic.

Ray built the 1200 horse power supercharged 427 SBC engine that propelled our American Pie 37 Chevy Coupe to many mid 8 second round wins. His expertise and attention to detail were remarkable, but more importantly I lost a great friend who shared my passion for drag racing and was always there when I needed him.

Please say hello to this beautiful Labradoodle puppy, who will be available for adoption after June 4th, when he will be 8 weeks old. He's a 2nd generation Labradoodle. Litter mates are already spoken for. This little fellow has black curly hair and a white spot on his chest.

Mom and dad have been DNA tested to insure compatability. Mom is 75% Poodle, and 25% Labrador Retrever, and dad is a 50%/50%, Lab/Poodle mix.

In Loving Memory of Dallas Jones... God Speed!

I am deeply saddened to report that the world has lost a great man.

Dallas Jones (the owner of Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green KY) was instrumental in the early success of the Nostalgia Drag Racing League. He gave an unknown group an opportunity to grow and brought us in on multiple occasions in our first years. With his assistance, the NDRL forged alliances with the NHRA SportNationals and became an integral part of the NHRA Museum Hot Rod Reunion. These events were a springboard to other large venues and events.

But Dallas was far more than just a track owner and race promoter. He was a true friend and will be missed dearly.

Does anyone know of a 1994 to 1996 Caprice Police car (9C1 option), for sale cheap? Alternatively, the same year Buick Roadmaster would work.

All I need is a good floor pan and solid (meaning not rusted out) rolling chassis for a project, so a total be**er bone yard special would be great.
