Northeast Mining and History of the Collieries

This site covers mining and most popular Collieries in the Northern part of England i.e. County Durham (DUR) and surrounding areas.

Our objection is to bring into one place, the history and memories from some of the miners and their families who are passionate about keeping this part of History alive.

The Miners built this Country along with other hard labour, such as the Railway Builders, Iron & Steel Workers, Ship Builders, Mill Workers, Brick Makers, Farm Workers and many many others.

We are always searching for new stories, links to other historical places nearby, photo’s and first hand and family memories from these times.

Please help us and get involved, you may see a lot of page activity to start with but please, if its too much then turn off notifications as we would like to build the presence quickly to establish a grounding for this project.
